I did the mistake of reading this book after 'At First Sight' none the less i loved this book. There was no drama, just a simple and classic love story between a city boy and country girl.The ending in this one made me really happy.

I could not get into this book there are my parts that could have been left out and it took a while to get interesting. Have read many of Nicholas Sparks books this one didn't compare to all the others it was very disappointing

I love Nicholas' books as much as the next girl, and I have never finished his book disappointed, but I have to say, this book wasn't the best I've read of his and I was rather apathetic in regards to finishing the book. I did enjoy the playful banter between Jeremy and Lexie, but I felt it lacked substance (though most of Sparks' books are relatively the same) and I just wasn't that interested.

This is my second Nicholas Sparks book, and i am liking him more and more! This book was a very entertaining read. Jeremy Marsh is a New York Journalist who has to travel to the small town of Boone Creek to investigate mysterious lights that appear in a cemetary. While in boone creek he meets the Towns libraian, Lexi Darnell. After that, life for jeremy will never be the same. Nicholas Sparks seems to be the expert when it comes to love stories, this one was no expection. An awesome read!

I listened to this as an audio book and was just charmed by the actor who did the reading. I think I would have liked it reading it in book form as well. Jeremy is a reporter who debunks fortune tellers and weird science stories. He heads to North Carolina where he finds a whole different kind of life from the gas attendant who talks so much you might never get away, from everyone waving at everyone, to a hotel room filled with taxidermy. He is there to write a story on the mysterious lights in the old graveyard. He meets Lexie whose grandmother brought Jeremy to the town. It is a book about the south and their relationship and whether the obstacles can be overcome. It was a nice light love story with an interesting side story of belief in the supernatural. I liked it a lot.

This book made me fall in love with all of Nicholas Sparks' novels. I can't stop buying them. It made me cry like a little baby and I just wanted to read it over and over again. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a really good mushy read :)!

Boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This story was very sweet, and had a good mystery plot to it, but the romance was not very believable to me. Realistically, for how long the two characters knew each other, it didn't make sense to consider them as in love. The ending (which I won't spoil) was very good, but again unrealistic. I just felt that it made for good fiction, but I could not fall into it as much as I have with other books. I am currently reading the sequel, which hopefully will impress me a bit more.

For Nicholas Sparks, it was just alright. The whole mystery thing got me going...but the romance didn't. It really can't be cheesy if there isn't much emphasis on the romance bit. Other than that it wasn't a really bad read.

I wasn't expecting to like this book, because I don't really care for paranormal stuff, but it wasn't really about that at all. It was a love story between two people who each have emotional baggage from past relationships (who doesn't?), and the main conflict is that they each live very different lives in different cities. Sparks always makes his leading men so funny and charming. A sweet story about making sacrifices for love.
