Pros: Very unpredictable, making it a nice read; interesting plot; long story, with lasting suspense. Cons: Slow starting; not the exact characters I would chose. I found that at first, I wasn't very into it, but then when Edward and Bella came to be closer friends, it got more interesting. Bella would try to hide him from her father, making me wonder when they would tell him. Meeting his family was cool because you got to learn about their so called 'powers' and get to know them more. Alice is probably my favorite character because she is very perky and I can relate. She also has the most awesome ability or power, because she will always know what is ahead. I got up to the part when they play the baseball game, which was also very awesome, and the vampires that suck human blood arrive. The tracker was probably the scariest, because, well, you know why, because he wants to track down Bella. I also was very scared when Alice was seeing all those images. I won't spoil it but it was very nerve racking. The characters were ok, but Bella was very apologetic, and she would never take much of a stand. Edward was a good character and was always standing up for Bella. The storyline was good in my point of view. The book was written very well, and I enjoyed it! The highlights to me were Alice. She was my favorite character and was very calm. If you are looking for a romantic novel with suspense here and there, and occasionally, but not often, a little laugh, then I would definitely recommend this book for you. This book I'd say is intended for a female audience.

I was completely surprised due to the fact that I actually loved this book. I mean I've never expected myself to actually read Romance novel. I found this book quite interesting due to the fact that I love vampires. I loved the Plot but I kind of felt that the some of the romance were kind of really slow. Although there wasn't much action in the book but for some reason its still exciting and an enganging novel. But in conclusion those who are interested in Vampires or Romance should defenitely read this book.

Why is it that people either viciously love or despise this series? I’ll try to stand on the fence in this review, because it deserves some degree of balance. I think the appeal of this book is for those that fall in love with either Edward of Jacob. If you don’t, then it could be hard to get into (or appreciate). Especially since a good portion of the book is just plain romance. It is quite fanservicey for teen girls, but the focus makes the plot weak (since some stories that contain romance can stand on its own, even if it the love is not supported by the readers). At points I cringed because it was just too much, where I’m sure others would swoon. While half the book is filler fluff, the other half -with the supernatural entities- is actually quite entertaining. I found myself drawn more to the Cullen family then Edward himself, and the wolf pack over Jacob. Believe it or not, there actually is more plot to this book! I just wish it did not start half way through the book. When that is the focus, it was fun. What this series could have used was a little balance; “romance, plot, romance, plot” sort of order. My verdict is: cut the pointless school and boring home scenes, limit the young and naïve love, pull the key events of all books into one... and presto = Twilight could have way more potential to appeal to a larger crowd. This review is entirely based on dropping the book half way and carrying on with the movies instead. I graded low because of the decline, but added a star since there is hope yet. I still have not decided if the story is worth suffering the painful relationships for the good stuff.

My favourite book out of the entire series, very captivating. Bella is a mediocre, quiet and sometimes awkward girl, but with those qualities alone, she's one of the most relatable characters I've ever read. Somehow you feel like you are Bella, being suddenly thrown into the supernatural world of Vampires & Werewolves. Very enriching and thrilling :)

I just read this book for the first time last month, and I thought it was really good! I never jumped on the Twilight bandwagon when it was big four years ago, and I never understood the hype until now. The books are much better than the movies. Definitely worth a read!

I read it in 2008 and i thought it was a nice story about bella falling in love with a vampire. before i read twilight i have seeing often at different book store for a while and one day i decide to pick up the book and read the back of it. to me it look interesting and different so a few month later i finally decide to buy the book. i read it in two month it was easy to finish it and i saw the movie a few day after. I love all the characters they are all different. My favorite character have to be bella. i also like Edward and Jacob they are awesome. The story was easy to undertand and the idea of it was simple. so i recommended this book for people who like love stories(like me) and Vampires.

After reading this almost 3 years ago, it's hard to give a proper review. I used to love this book. I got the majority of the women in my family to read it and some of my friends at work hooked too. Originally, I had an electronic copy of the first three Twilight books because I heard of a movie coming out. So I started Twilight in the late spring. I don't think I even got past the first chapter. Maybe that was a sign. Then again in August when the fans of the books were getting even more excited because it was close to November, I started to read Twilight again. I think I read it in a week. Then I read New Moon, followed very closely by Eclipse. By the time I had finished Eclipse I had the first three books, plus the newly released Breaking Dawn on order from Chapters online. I still can't believe how fast I read those books. And I loved Breaking Dawn. I think, for me, the books were there at a time where my reading habits were changing. I had grown out of MG books but I wasn't quite interested in Adult yet. Harry Potter was over and I needed a new series to cling to. So I did, for a time. Then I started to read reviews of the books. A lot of bad reviews pointing out the flaws that I hadn't seen in these books. How overly simple they were, how abusive Edward and Jacob were, how Stephenie Meyer was pushing her anti-abortion views in Breaking Dawn. Blah, blah, blah... And I let those reviews sway my opinion of the entire series. I started second guessing my love of the series and my reasons for reading it so fast. But in the end I still loved the Twilight universe. I continued to follow fan sites and read fan fiction and looked at the beautiful art depicting the characters of the Twilight universe. Life was good. I re-read the books another time. Then I got bored of just reading about Edward and his sparkles. Suddenly I realised Twilight was so much less than I had built it up to be. I became embarrassed to admit I had a love for a book that 12 year old girls loved just as much (and waaay more, too). I've tried to read Eclipse again (it was my favourite) but it comes off as way too cheesy. Maybe my taste in reading has changed. Maybe I've moved away from being a teenager completely. Maybe I just was so clouded by sparkling vampires that I couldn't see the problems with the books. I don't know why I loved them so much and now I don't know why I can't stand to read the books now.

In Twilight, Stephenie Meyer has uniquely touched upon the subject of a human meeting a vampire that fall in love and have a romantic relationship with each other. She has started a huge franchise that has spawned 5 movies (each based upon 1 of her 4 books, the last book divided into 2 movies). She has used her talent to write a wonderful story that readers can easily get into. When I read it for the first time, I was amazed at how precise and wonderful the details were and how wonderfully everything flowed. Being completely honest, I was sorry it ended. If you're wondering what to read next, I would strong recommend Twilight!

I read a blog that said it best: "Her appearance isn't described in detail; that way, any female can slip into it and easily fantasize about being this person. By creating this "empty shell," the character becomes less of a person and more of something a female reader can put on and wear." Not only does the main character not have a personality, she is completely controlled by Edward. I didn't finish the book because: one, this lack of character bored me; two, telling young girls that they need a man to function is not cool with me; and three, the writing lacked any spark or talent. A complete waste of my time... but I guess if you want to read a crappy book that isn't even good gulity pleasure crappy, be my guest.

It took me a few chapters to really get interested in this story. I do not like the main character Bella, partly because I know that Kristin Stewart played her role in the "Twilight" movie and ruined the character with her poor acting skills. Anything that usually involves monster-human love relationships will bring calamity to a story especially this one! The book is okay for a one time read.
