Full of excellent information on healthy foods. Very well written, it held my attention. The recipes are easy, taste great, and are good for you! The authors are also Canadian and recommend products available in Canada.

I have been cooking from this book for several months now and have yet to find a bad recipe. The background information about the healthiest foods was extremely well researched and the advice on how to integrate good foods into your diet was excellent and practical for today's Canadian lifestyle. Bravo!

This book is full of information and easy recipes. It's not about crazy fad diets, just the basic science of what foods are good for you, and why. It's Canadian too!

About the Author

Liz Pearson isn''t afraid to admit that she loves chocolate as much as the next person. Her ability to communicate timely, relevant nutrition research, while emphasizing the need for fun food in moderation is what makes her approach to healthy eating so sane and sensible. Liz''s first book, When in Doubt, Eat Broccoli! (But Leave Some Room for Chocolate) received outstanding reviews from consumers and health professionals alike.

A multi-talented home economist, teacher and actor, Mairlyn Smith loves to add a dash of comedy to her cooking. Born in Vancouver, Mairlyn always loved the view of the mountains from her parent''s kitchen window. In 1976 she graduated with a degree in Home Economics from the University of British Columbia. She then returned to UBC and completed her Teaching Certificate before going on to teach Home Economics and head the Department of Fine Arts at Balmoral Junior High.
