    An alright read.

The outline of the book is pretty cool; but I'd have to say that I'm not a huge fan of the way Richelle Mead writes. I found it almost confusing, at times.

However, I am intrigued to find out what happends with Rose. And therefore I will be picking up sequel. (When it's on sale!)

This was a pretty good book. The two main characters are best friends and both females. They have a secret that is slowly slipping through the cracks and ending up in right in the middle of high school gossip. Their lives are at stake. One of the best friends is half human half vampire and it is her duty as a guardian to protect her vampire best friend for life. Read the interesting events that intertwine in their little vampire academy.

I absolutely loved this series!! I didnt even start reading it until two months ago because I was tired of all the vampire books and wanted to give them a rest. I'd pick it up and read the first page or so but I always ended up putting it back, I just never thought it would be that good. But after I kept hearing how amazing these books were and since people kept recommending them to me I finally decided to read them. I was not disappointed!! The vampires aren't even exactly the same as other books, there are different types (Moroi, Strigoi and Dhampire), which made things interesting for me. I found myself wondering what took me so long? I read all six books in just under two weeks! Unlike some other books I've read (where somewhere along the line it looks like the author got lazy or just didnt put much effort into one of the books) this series- the characters and storyline- just kept getting better and more interesting. I recommend these books to just about anyone, even those getting tired of the vampire scene. Mead is a Really Great author! I'm buying the entire series. I'd say more but I'm afraid I might give something away =)

I loved this book. I mean, mystery, magic, young love (or old depending) and vampires thirsty for vengeance...and blood, what's not to love. Richelle Mead is an awesome writer! I just discovered the books now and i'm hooked. She's was instantly added to my list of top five favourite writers after i read the first book.

About the Author

Scorpio Richelle Mead is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of urban fantasy books for both adults and teens. Originally from Michigan, Richelle now lives in Seattle, Washington where she works on her three series full-time. Before becoming a writer, she considered a few different career paths. She received a liberal arts degree from the University of Michigan, an MA in Comparative Religion from Western Michigan University, and a Master in Teaching (Middle & High School English) degree from the University of Washington. In the end, she decided writing was the way for her but believes all of her education prepared her for it.

A lifelong reader, Richelle has always had a particular fascination with mythology and folklore. When she can actually tear herself away from books (either reading or writing them), she enjoys bad reality TV, traveling, trying interesting cocktails, and shopping for dresses that she then hardly ever wears. She is a self-professed coffee addict, runs on a nocturnal schedule, and has a passion for all things wacky and humorous.
