Vegan With a Vengeance: Over 150 Delicious, Cheap, Animal-Free Recipes That Rock

by Isa Chandra Moskowitz

Da Capo Press | October 28, 2005 | Trade Paperback

In Vegan with a Vengeance, Isa Chandra Moskowitz, host of the community access vegan cooking show The Post Punk Kitchen, brings the do-it-yourself, community-driven ethos of punk rock into the kitchen. Her cooking philosophy embraces being kind to animals (all recipes are completely animal-product free) and your wallet—while being creative and having fun in the process. She emphasizes staying clear of corporate brand-name foods, and says that cooking should be an innovative, experimental, and completely real experience. This one-of-a-kind cookbook offers 125 recipes for all meals of the day, from stuffed mushrooms to tofu pizza, gingerbread cupcakes to pasta with "alfreda sauce," and is full of tips and tricks on how to keep your diet vegan, inexpensive, and liberated.

I had this cookbook for 2 years and made most of the recipies in it and they were all awesome. The recipies were simple, stright forward, and even an kitchen accident prone person like me was able to use it, until i set it on fire. I've ordered another copy however and should soon be able to enjoy more. (don;t ask how it caught on fire... it just happend.) Very much worth the buy for anyone vegan, vegitarian, or just like delicious food :)

This was the first cookbook I picked up when I was thinking about going vegan, and every single recipe has been delicious! I love the veggie burgers and the chocolate chip cookies and the peanut butter cookies... every single recipe I've tried has been so tasty and none of the recipes are very complicated so it's definitely a good book for people just getting into vegan cooking. Every vegan should own this cookbook!
