The Walking Dead Volume 1: Days Gone Bye

by Robert Kirkman
Contribution by: Tony Moore

Image Comics | September 26, 2006 | Trade Paperback

An epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe, causing the dead to rise and feed on the living. In a matter of months, society has crumbled: There is no government, no grocery stores, no mail delivery, no cable TV. Rick Grimes finds himself one of the few survivors in this terrifying future. A couple months ago he was a small town cop who had never fired a shot and only ever saw one dead body. Separated from his family, he must now sort through all the death and confusion to try and find his wife and son. In a world ruled by the dead, we are forced to finally begin living. Reprint Edition

    How far

    Nicholas Blake

Makes you wonder how far people can go willing to survive the change of characters mentally of physically. I would suggest this book Im not a fan of comic books but this one is highly great. Abit different then the series on TV but still great

    story filled with great drama

Yeah, this is a horror zombie tale but it is also a great character study, of how far you would go if you were trapped in a world with out hope. It's black and white art fills the mood with darkness, but suits it oh so well.

Give it a read before the AMC show starts this fall

    Zombies are great!

The classic zombie story. Nothing innovative about it. But the story telling is absolutely stunning. It follows the struggle for survival of a small group of people led by our hero Rick through a zombie infested world. No backup, no help coming, no search for a cure. Simple day to day survival. And when even that becomes routine you realize that We are the Walking Dead. Once you buy the first book you'll eat through the others. I highly recommend.
