When Do You Let the Animals Out?: A Field Guide To Rocky Mountain Humour

by Michael Kerr

Fifth House Books | Trade Paperback

At what elevation does an elk become a moose?

Where can I find alpine flamingos?

How do the elk know they''re supposed to cross at the elk crossing signs?

Where do bears nest?

Don''t all Canadians wear raccoon hats?

Ah yes, the familiar calls of that plentiful species, the Rocky Mountain Tourist.

When Do You Let the Animals Out? is the first and only guide that identifies the unusual antics of this migratory species as well as highlighting the more indigenous sources of humour to be found in the Canadian Rockies.

Bizarre questions, weird wildlife facts, the strangest place name stories of the Rockies, and a chronology of Rocky Mountain humour are just some of the hilarious information provided in this guide.

When Do You Let the Animals Out? is a great way for residents and tourists alike to enjoy the best and worst of the Canadian Rockies (no expensive equipment required).

It is hilarious and I have heard some stories similar to those. Most of which come from visitors from outside Canada. I have heard a few stories similar to those. Some seem to think the National Parks are like zoos where you go to watch the four legged animals.

A hilarious collection of anecdotes from a park ranger of some of the truly absurd questions tourists ask. Some of them are so inane and crazy that you'll wonder if they're true. Shows just how stupid some of us are when we go on holidays. It will also remind many booksellers of the insane questions we get all year round. Booksellers aren't the only people who get asked weird questions. The question is who's gonna write a book about us?
