She has dedicated herself to improving the lives of companion rabbits, but her love of animals is not limited to that species. Lucile has also served as a wildlife behavior consultant and fosters a neutered/spayed colony of feral cats. She lives on ten acres outside Kanab, Utah, among a host of jackrabbits and cottontails. Kathy Smith has had a passion for rabbits since childhood. After losing a beloved rabbit to cancer in 1998, Kathy wrote Rabbit Health in the 21st Century, combining her pharmaceutical industry experience with what she had learned about rabbits during Smokey''s life.
