Let me just start off by saying that I don't generally enjoy
historical romances. I can read a few here and there but, I never
actually like them very much because of repetition, 2D characters
and a very predictable plot line.
Now I'm going to say that Whitney, My Love had absolutely none of
those flaws. From beginning to the very, very, VERY end, I was
constantly intrigued and wanting to know more about the two lovely
lead characters. They had so much depth and so much personality
that I often wondered if these were actual characters from a
romance.
The plot line may seem a little corny and cliche but McNaught
really does make it her own and therefore, makes this a spectacular
read for any girl looking for a good love story. Another thing I
thoroughly enjoyed about this particular romance was that it wasn't
all butterflies and candy. The characters are far from perfect and
seem to enjoy hurting one another quite expertly. It made me angry,
frustrated and at the same time, happy. Only few books can ever
make me feel all those emotions towards the characters and
generally, those books leave quite an impression on me.
A highly recommended read for those looking for classic romance
minus the cliche.
