Plot: Wild Instinct is comprised of three connected stories of rogue werewolves who find their mates. The first and longest of the stories is that of Garrett who is a rogue werewolf who has longed to be a part of a pack. He finally has his wish granted by Wyatt the alpha of a new pack called Haven. Haven is a different sort of pack that doesn't exclude those wolves who have human heritage or special abilities. T along with his best friend Curran and another defender Daire (they're the most lethal and deadly warriors) must protect three women who are on the run from a rival pack. So with three warriors and three women I'll leave it to you to guess what shenanigans they get up to, but safe to say they all pair off and face appropriately difficult challenges along the way. Good thing they all seem to have nifty superpowers that come into play as needed to overcome plot obstacles.

The good: It's short.

The bad: Seriously, what the heck is this crap??? How did this get by an editor???? While reading I just couldn't make sense of the situations and the reactions of the characters and in some places even the dialogue didn't make much sense. The ending of Garrett's book stops dead, pretty much in the middle of a love scene which is interrupted by somber talk of the heroine's missing son and then it's just over. Hun?
Initially I thought that maybe this was an anthology of her work and these were excerpts from a larger book because there seemed to be huge chunks of missing plot. Then I thought ok, maybe I just missed a few pages, I re-read (shutter) and that wasn't the case either - it just was that poorly written. This is just bad, bad, bad. The dialogue is wooden, the plot is inconsistent and the interaction between characters is so far fetched that it's almost laughable.

Try: If you're looking for a paranormal romance series featuring weres and some lighthearted fun try Shelly Laurenston. It's good fun.

For me these stories didn’t impress me, I found it just as good as the last novel. I find the plot moves too slowly and not enough is reveled in the story. Other than that I don’t have much to day about the novel.
