I found out about this book while being pregnant with my first child, seven years ago. Many women believe that breastfeeding is natural. We all hope that following the birth the baby will latch on and everything will be just great. That's not the reality many woman face. I had lots of problems breastfeeding my son in the first six weeks of his life. THE WOMANLY ART OF BREASTFEEDING helped me to persevere, and to develop a great breastfeeding relationship with my child. It provided me with a lot of advice on the proper latch, breast infections, and how to take care of myself. In addition to this great information, I learned how important breastfeeding was to my two children. I've read this book at least 4 times from cover to cover. It has been one of my most important reference books in the last 7 years as I breastfed my son, and then my daughter. Now my sister is pregnant, and guess what she's getting as part of her congratulations gift from my family. Of course, it is THE WOMANLY ART OF BREASTFEEDING!
