There are few more convincing, less sentimental accounts of passionate love than the story of the tormented Heathcliff, who falls wildly in love with Catherine Earnshaw, the daughter of his benefactor, and of the violence and misery that result from their thwarted longing for each other.

I think that this is a masterpiece that will be timeless. The characters are all all very complex and have their own uniqueness. Once you have understood what Heathcliff went through, you can give a little room for sympathy towards him. And Catherine deserves props for her crucial role. An all-around compelling story.overall it's a must read!
