About the Author

DR. DAVID SUZUKI is an acclaimed geneticist and environmentalist, the host of The Nature of Things on CBC Television. He has won numerous academic awards, as well as Unesco's Kalinga Prize for Science, the UN's Environmental Medal, the UNEP's Global 500 and he holds 24 honourary degrees in Canada, the US and Australia. He has written 47 books, including 17 for children. He has been adopted into 3 First Nations clans. He lives in Vancouver, BC.

KATHY VANDERLINDEN is a writer and an editor with an extensive background in children's literature. She is the author or co-author of 4 previous children's books, including Eco-Fun, which was nominated for a Silver Birch Award. One of the many titles she edited, Transformed, won the prestigious Norma Fleck Award for children's non-fiction in 2006. She lives in Victoria, BC.

WALLACE EDWARDS won a GG's Award for Children's Literature-Illustration for his book Alphabeasts. He lives in Toronto, ON.
