Aisling Grey is a courier enjoying a free, work-related trip to Paris when she learns she''s a Guardian. That''s a keeper of the Gates of Hell, for those who don''t know. She finds this out from Drake Vireo, who''s scrumptiously sexy-at least in his human form. Now Drake has stolen the package Aisling was sent to deliver, and she must track him down, get the package, and try to resist the passion boiling inside her.

    One truly wacky ride...

(In the event the Chapters-Indigo website deletes my rating, I mention here that I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars.)

I enjoyed this one. For one thing, this book has to be one of the funniest I've ever read. If you want an easy read that will have you ROTFLMAO, look no further. The main character's romance was sexy and pretty well done. The world building was interesting.

Negative points: Some of the novel felt a bit 'cutesy', in the sense that so much effort seemed to be devoted to the humor aspect that the rest of the novel (e.g. the characterization of the secondary characters, the development of the relationship between the main character and her main love interest, and the motivations of the main evil character) sometimes fell just a bit flat. The main mystery behind the story, in particular, did fall just a little bit flat since the answer to that part of the story was essentially, 'this character did this because they are evil, end of story', which felt a bit anticlimactic given the fact that the search for this killer had taken a good part of the book.

Of course, I did give this book four stars because it was highly enjoyable when taken for what it was (i.e. light fluffy fun).

    Other books I recommend:
    -Stormwalker, by Allyson James
    -Dragon Bound, by Thea Harrison
-Cry Wolf (see also the prequel story in, 'On the Prowl'), by Patricia Briggs
-The Demon In Me, by Michelle Rowen
-The Shadow Reader, by Sandy Williams
-Daughter of the Blood, by Anne Bishop
    -Santa Olivia, by Jacqueline Carey

This was the first of Katie MacAlister's novels I read. I had the novel recommended to me by a friend and at first i was skeptical. Dragons and magic?! But by the time I was at the 3rd chapter, I loved it! Don't get turned off by the paranormal aspects of this novel, it was funny and witty and I found myself laughing out loud!
