Always Time to Die is rated 2.6667 out of 5 by 3.

Former U.S. Senator Quintrell is dead.
His son, New Mexico's governor, is preparing his
run for the highest political office in the land.

And dark family secrets are about to explode with the
devastating force of a Southwestern earthquake.

An eccentric Quintrell aunt has invited genealogist Carolina "Carly" May to their Taos compound to compile a record of the illustrious family. But digging into the past is raising troubling questions about a would-be president's private life . . . and the grisly street crime that left his drug-addicted sister dead. As a dark world of twisted passions and depravity slowly opens up before Carly, there is no one whom she dares trust -- perhaps least of all Dan Duran, a dangerous, haunted enigma who's tied to the Quintrells' history. But she will need an ally to survive the terrible mysteries a father carried to the grave -- because following the bloodlines of the powerful can be a bloody business. And some dead secrets can kill.

Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great read! While I always enjoy Elizabeth Lowell's work, this is one of my favourites. The plot is tight for the most part - there are a few details that are left hanging, but overall it makes for a great page turner (and a perfect beach read). I always come to Lowell's work for the characters and the relationships and they are top notch in this book. I believe the main protagonists in this book like each other and work well as a team. There is real cemistry and comrademanship between them. In short - the author sold me on this cover. I will re-read this book for years.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Read I always enjoy a good Elizabeth Lowell. A good tale, the right amount of conflict. Well rounded characters and a little too much incest.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Don't waste your money on this book! The plot makes little sense, the geneology was hard to follow with everyone related to everyone else and the incestuous inbreeding storyline turned my stomach. If you are a fan of Elizabeth Lowell don't waste your time and money, this is her worst.
