Rated 5 out of 5 by from No one will not love this manga. Whoa. That's going to be everyone's reaction when they read Death Note. I love mystery, horror, you know, the gory stuff, but not once have I read a mystery manga that came near or topped Death Note (except Kuroshitsuji, that manga came near). Although being my second favourite manga, the plot and characters are suspenseful and most, awfully dangerous...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredibly Suspenseful, Very Enjoyable I don't usually read mystery, but I decided to read Death Note (the second manga that I read) on the recommendation of a friend. I was hesitant, as I wasn't really into manga and didn't want to read a "boys" story, but boy, am I glad I did! Death Note is extremely suspenseful, and interesting! I find it get's better as it progresses, as well. It is the first series I read where I really did not like the protagonist, but at the same time didn't want him to fail, even though I knew that'd be the right thing! Death Note has a different drawing style of manga, however, even though it was not as 'pretty' as manga can be, I found it portrayed emotion, movement, and scenery very well. When I bought this series, I had bought the 2-in-1 volumes. I had them all except numbers 5-6, and good thing I didn't for a few months or I would have read them all as soon as possible even though I was trying to save them for a specific long-trip I was taking! This series had major cliff-hangers, and had me at the edge of my seat often. It was a very good read, and I would recommend this series to both boys and girls! I really liked it a lot! Enjoy :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Deathnote box set *READ* Well i have nothing bad to say about Deathnote, but when i see on-line here that it advertised for $69.00, then i go into my local chapters to buy it first off i had to hunt down an employee who was actually willing to help me second was told that they didnt have it even though i looked online before i left and there were 4 boxsets avail. so i asked if another chapters had it and an employee said.."oh that..i know where they are..." anyway..i got my boxset but was astonished when the lady at the till told me the total was $110.00!! after it is advertised online for $69.00. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Series Just finished reading the entire series online, and it is a great read from beginning to end, the characters personalities are all well done and the story is gripping all the way through, definately a must buy for any manga fan or fan of the series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb Series Considering I only picked up this series initially because I was a fan of the artists previous work on Hikaru No Go, I was massively surprised by how awesome and engaging it was. It starts a little slow in the first volume but by the time you finish it, you are absorbed into the world created by Ohba and you just have to keep reading on to find out how this mystery ends. I literally read the whole series in a matter of hours cause I couldn't put it down. Despite the heavy themes of life and death, I think Death Note would be a great read for any one including younger readers who are looking for something more then just the popular battle mangas that are out nowadays. If you are looking for a manga that proves that it isn't all just flash with no substance, Death Note is a great way to prove that. One of the best series I've read to date, its tied with Akira as my favourite manga ever.
