About the Author

What started as a doodle has turned Scott Adams into a superstar of the cartoon world. Dilbert debuted on the comics page in 1989, while Adams was in the tech department at Pacific Bell. Adams continued to work at Pacific Bell until he was voluntarily downsized in 1995. He has lived in the San Francisco Bay area since 1979.

From Our Editors

The perennially diffident Dilbert is a favourite among contemporary North American cartoons, and no wonder. The calm centre of a chaotic workplace, Dilbert represents the heels and heroes in the pre-millennium office environment. This marvellous collection culls strips from a decade of syndication, specially requested by the fans for the fans. Dilbert Gives You the Business reflects 10 years of Dilbert — and the rest of us — at work, the centerpiece of our culture. Creator Scott Adams tells it like it is with the Boss, the Intern, Administration, and of course, the megalomaniacal Dogbert.
