Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Enjoying this book I bought this book based on the reviews. I tried it with my 3, 5, 8, and 10 year olds, and it was the 5 and 8 year old that became drawing addicts since starting this, particularly my 8 yr old, which shocked me because he NEVER liked anything involving using a pencil, crayon or marker. The best part for everyone is the awesome drawing examples throughout of children's drawings and how old they were when they drew it. Everyone was awed by the power that this book had before we even started. And, the older kids were encouraging the younger ones too. So far we have just finished the activities in the first chapter. I have to say it isn't as easy as picking up a lesson plan. You have to read through the chapter and decide what the main talking points are and at times,do a bunch of photocopies if you have multiple kids. We sometimes just did the exercises, but I wondered if I was missing the point on a couple of the exercises. While it does take a bit of pre planning, it is adaptable to the different ages. I havent figured out how to interest my 3 yr old.
