Feast: Harvest of Dreams is rated 1 out of 5 by 1.

Halloween is a bad time to return to the woods . . .

Madeline MacFaddin ("Mad Mac" to fans of her bestselling magical stories) spent blissful childhood summers in Ticonderoga Falls. And this is where she wants to be now that her adult life is falling apart. The dense surrounding forest holds many memories, some joyous, some tantalizingly only half-remembered. And she''s always believed there was something living in these wooded hills.

But Maddie doesn''t remember the dark parts-and knows nothing of the mountain legend that holds the area''s terrified residents captive. She has no recollection of Ash, the strange and magnificent creature who once saved her life as a child, even though it is the destiny of his kind to prey upon humanity. And soon it will be the harvest . . . the time to feast.

Once again Maddie''s dreams-and her soul-are in grave danger. But magic runs deep during harvest. Even a spinner of enchanted tales has wondrous powers of her own . . .

Reviews

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A real disappointment Although I really dislike writing negative reviews, it would be unfair were I to give this a positive rating as in this case I hope to save some readers both eyestrain and $$$. As I had very much enjoyed reading this author's first work "Afterlife: The Resurrection Chronicles" I was looking forward to reading her second offering. I regret to say that this one is a totally monotonous bomb. It was just page after page after page of the same idea stated over and over and over again. Try as I might, I was unable to get through the whole book. I understand the premise and the loosely-veiled comparison to the Wild Hunt of Celtic lore, but the author's rendition just falls flat. At the point that I decided to give up reading the book I tried an experiment. At random I flipped 20-30 pages ahead, read several pages and then flipped to the next 20-30 until I reached the end of the book. Each time I stopped to read I found that it was basically a recap of what I had just read. In summary, there was no progression to the story, little character development and in short, just plain boring.
