Reviews

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Storybook disguised as business sense OK from a top-down motivational perspective. Kudos to the author for making it short. Normally short books are content heavy, but this was (surprisingly) a storybook format. In terms of concrete suggestions and results to get employees engaged, look elsewhere. Reading this book is like having someone tell you to walk to Kansas. Why? Because Kansas is great! Everyone wants to go to Kansas! But this person won't tell you where Kansas is, how you know you've got there, and whether you'll ever really get there given your (limited) time and resources. It's a short and very easy read, but also an hour of my time I'll never get back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from You Get What You Fished For Really great quick read. I sat down one evening feeling the need to change my perspective a little at the work place and this was inspirational in many ways. Gae me some motivation to reflect on myself and my workplace and make a simple change. Quick read, great tools. It wasn't burdensome and was an actively engaging book for the hour.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A good workplace recommendation. Thanks boss. Fish is written as a personal parable much in the fashion of Ishmael, making the structure and information much easier to digest and relate to. A well chosen story path displaying many traits, doubts, and questions, which readers can see themselves in. Not epiphanic, but still uplifting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One for the team! This is one for everyone...not just the management or owners. Our staff became fish fans and took the message throughout the office every day. Not just a great read, but a practical, inspiring and real life message for the whole team.

From Our Editors

All is not well at Seattle’s Pike Palace Market; production is plummeting and morale is at an all-time low. When the management tells Mary Jane Ramirez to sort their company out, she knows that she has a grim task ahead of her. But before long, she’s working miracles with the help of head fishmonger Lonnie ... and delivering results that nobody could have expected. Fish! is a hilarious new book of management parables that not only takes on proverbial management wisdom, but comes out on top.
