Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, easy read! It was a really nice, easy read, but I did find that it was a bit repeditive and the pages were mostly used up with little facts, which is nice, but... left the book 1/3 "empty". Over all I really enjoyed it and have passed it on to many people! I would deffinity reccomend it to anyone who wants a possitive change and outlook when interacting with people! I would DEFFINITLY reccomend this to any boss or manager!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Half Full of Ideas. The heart and concept of the book is great and simple. Tom Rath offers great concepts to enhance the most out of work and life. However, the book is a very fast read with many filler pages that almost could've been condensed into a blog. Personally, I would have loved more application or action steps. It's less strategic and more broad in it's teachings... I supposed that may be to allow you to apply it to your own workplace or lifestyle, but because it was fast to read and seemingly broad ideas, rather than concise examples, I felt it was more like a blog than a well-thought out book. In saying that the research that Gallop did was incredible. I find myself talking about these ideas to people in my day to day. The book gets you thinking and wanting to improve the lives of people around you. And gets you thinking about your impact in this world. Are you a bucket filler(someone who adds) or a dipper(someone who takes away)? If you are looking for a great conversation starter or a few really great ideas to bring to a team or community, this book is an awesome one that could easily be passed around and shared. If you are looking for direct actions steps... I would look elsewhere. On a side note the Strenthsfinder test you get to take is a worthwhile investment. You gain access it to here or any other Gallop publishment. If you are looking for a change and a way to focus on the gifts you have, improving your work, family and over all life... I suggest doing that 35 minut test! Cheers.
