In Too Deep: Book One Of The Looking Glass Trilogy

by Jayne Krentz

Putnam Adult | May 3, 2013 | Hardcover

In Too Deep: Book One Of The Looking Glass Trilogy is rated 3.75 out of 5 by 4.
The latest Arcane Society novel from New York Times- bestselling author of Running Hot and Fired Up-as she introduces her brand-new Looking Glass trilogy.

Jayne Ann Krentz follows up her highly successful Dreamlight Trilogy- written in collaboration with her two alter egos, Amanda Quick and Jayne Castle-with a brand-new story arc that begins in a secluded coastal town in northern California.

Scargill Cove is the perfect place for Fallon Jones, confirmed recluse and investigator of the paranormal. It''s a hot spot, a convergence point for unusually strong currents of energy, which might explain why the town attracts misfits and drifters like moths to a flame. Now someone else has been drawn to the Cove-Isabella Valdez, on the run from some very dangerous men.

When she starts work as Fallon''s assistant, Isabella impresses him by organizing his pathologically chaotic office-and doesn''t bat an eye at the psychic aspect of his job. She''s a kindred spirit, a sanctuary from a world that considers his talents a form of madness. But after a routine case unearths an antique clock infused with dark energy, Fallon and Isabella are dragged into the secret history of Scargill Cove and forced to fight for their lives, as they unravel a cutthroat conspiracy with roots in the Jones family business . . . and Isabella''s family tree.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The Looking Glass Trilogy Good light read. Enjoyable. But if you read one you have read them all. They all have the same story line, much like Danielle Steele. Man meets Woman, they have hot steamy sex, they are together forever. I made the mistake of reading them all back to back. "Trilogy" Expecting an ongoing storyline but did not find one. Yes there was mention of J

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dependable enjoyable light read The Arcane Society books are dependable, light and enjoyable. There's mystery, romance, excitement and some paranormal components which make for perfect easy summer reading. Fallon Jones has been happily living in Scargill Cove, away from civilization, from complications, from people for years. He's more than content to run Jones & Jones Investigations from this small remote town. But when Isabella Valdez arrives and appoints herself Fallon's assistant, and then an investigator for the firm, she brings all the complications - and more - that Fallon's been trying to avoid down on him like a ton of bricks! Krentz is very good at spinning a good yarn, with likeable characters, and a well written story and the paranormal aspects that give it extra spice. The story is an easy and fast read, but definitely enjoyable if paranormal mystery is your thing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Fun Read I love Krentz's Jones series, the characters are entertaining and there is just enough mystery to keep you interested until the very end. Of course, the ending hints at more to come, so I am sure this will not be the last we see of the Jones family.
