Taken By Storm is an excellent book for those wishing to learn more about Climate Change and the science behind its detection. I would particularly recommend the book for those people who are committed to reducing CO2 emissions based on the unanimity of scientists on the subject. Essex and McKitrick demonstrate not only how complex natural systems can be, but also how overstated our understanding of them is. As well, through careful investigation and explanation they reveal that governments’ confidence in computer models projecting global warming is dangerously too high. This book is an opportunity for those willing to commit significant proportions of their own and society’s resources in attempts of reducing climate change to rethink their basis for such drastic actions before it is too late.
