A laird trapped between centuries...

Enchanted by a powerful spell, Highland laird Drustan MacKeltar slumbered for nearly five centuries hidden deep in a cave, until an unlikely savior awakened him. The enticing lass who dressed and spoke like no woman he’d ever known was from his distant future, where crumbled ruins were all that remained of his vanished world. Drustan knew he had to return to his own century if he was to save his people from a terrible fate. And he needed the bewitching woman by his side....

A woman changed forever in his arms...

Gwen Cassidy had come to Scotland to shake up her humdrum life and, just maybe, meet a man. How could she have known that a tumble down a Highland ravine would send her plunging into an underground cavern — to land atop the most devastatingly seductive man she’d ever seen? Or that once he’d kissed her, he wouldn’t let her go?

Bound to Drustan by a passion stronger than time, Gwen is swept back to sixteenth-century Scotland, where a treacherous enemy plots against them ... and where a warrior with the power to change history will defy time itself for the woman he loves....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another great read by Moning Another great instalment of the Highlander Series, kiss of the Highlander introduces us to the Druids. If you have read the Fever Series this is where you’ll start to hear some names that are also in the Fever series. I actually found this shed a little light on to parts of that series that were only touched on. Drustan MacKeltar is put under a spell that has him sleep for a few hundred years where he meets Gwen and intelligent Physicist who he needs to bring back to his time in order to save himself and find the person who put him under the spell. Moning creates wonderful characters and a light sense of humour that makes her books very enjoyable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This book was great I don't have much to say about this book except that it was awesome just like the other books in the series and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book. I loved the storyline and the characters were great and I always love a happy ending. If you haven't read this series yet go and pick it up. :0)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great book! This was the first book I read from Karen and it made me buy the entire Highlander series of books. I've greatly enjoyed them all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perhaps my favourite out of the series This is the 4th book of KMM's Highlander Series and is about Drustan and Gwen's romance. If you've read the previous books, there are certain elements that reoccur and shouldn't be a surprise (time travel) but comes with a bit of a twist. However, this is when it starts to get even more interesting because druid magic begins to play a vital role, and the events of this story are important in the next book called "The Dark Highlander". Personally, I love it when stand alone stories connect and if you enjoyed Drustan and Gwen's story, you will not want to miss the next one about his brother Dageus. This book was hilarious in a few parts and was quite entertaining. Also, if you are reading or will read the Fever series, you will probably want to read about Drustan as he is one of the druids that appear in that story.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious! A remarkabley woven story! Time travel seems so far fetched, but not in this love story. It fit perfectly and Moning answered all the questions to the impossibility of the magic involved. So well done! And the characters were deep and real and . . . well just read the book.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from An easy read, fun and frivolous This book will never be considered literature, but for a light and fun summer read any of Moning's Highlander books is a safe bet. They're a bit cliche (tall, handsome and large proportioned heroes) but that's half the fun in reading them. Moning's plot lines are saved from becoming too hackneyed by the imaginative world she has created. A great blend of fantasy and romance. Take these on the plane or to the beach.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oh, Drustan... This is the first of the Highlander series I've read, though I've already read Darkfever by the same author. I'm planning on reading the rest of the Highlanders asap. No, really, 'tis this good. It's paranormal historical romance at its very best. At first I also thought the Highlander books would be eight carbon copies of Outlander, but after reading Kiss and the synopses from the other books I can safely say 'tis not so! Och, ye canna help but fall in lust. Gwen Cassidy's life was bland, no doubt about it. The daughter of two famous scientists, it was only natural that she follow in their footsteps. Only to end up dated for three reasons: to try to win her parents' good graces, to see if she had any theories worth stealing, and for the prestige of dating the "prodigy". She'd been frighteningly cynical by twenty-one. Dropped out of the doctorate program at twenty-three. Lonely as hell by twenty-five. The trip to Scotland was supposed to be it. She was going to get someone to finally pop her cherry. Only to find THE cherry tree topper downer. Uh, whoa, that's... great... but, whoa! Highlander laird Drustan MacKeltar has been asleep for five centuries, enchanted by a powerful spell. Awakening to find a woman sprawled on top of him, he can't help but get... ideas. But he quickly sobers as reality hits him. Five hundred years... and crumbled ruins where he used to dwell. He must return to his own century to change history and save his people from a terrible fate. But he needs Gwen, for she could surely be the one to save him. Passion stronger than time will defy the laws of the universe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worthy of every minute of your reading time! Loved this book. The characters, Gwen & Dustin, have an interesting start to their relationship and I absolutely loved the ending. It is a passionate love story that will have you reading all night long. Check it out...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! KMM has outdone herself again. If you're thinking of reading this book go back to the others in the series first so you get more of the depth with secondary characters..namely Adam Black- the order is: Touch, Tame, Kiss, Mist, Dark, Immortal, Spell. Amazing books! There romantic, fun, adventurous and whitty-but of course when the future meets the past that is bound to happen!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Ever This is Karen 4th book in the Highlander series. Though this book can stand alone it is better appreciated when read in order. You will appreciate the 'magic'and folklore more. The story is full of fine detail and suspense. I did not want to put the book down. I can't wait to read the Dark Highlander.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Addictive! I absolutely loved this book. I took it with me on vacation and was so enthralled in the story that I was taking the book with me wherever I went incase I could get a chance to read a few pages. It was so good! I recommend it to anyone who likes a good, entertaining read.

Read from the Book

Highlands of Scotland September 19, Present Day Gwen Cassidy needed a man. Desperately. Failing that, she’d settle for a cigarette. God, I hate my life, she thought. I don’t even know who I am anymore. Glancing around the crowded interior of the tour bus, Gwen took a deep breath and rubbed the nicotine patch under her arm. After this fiasco, she deserved a cigarette, didn’t she? Except, even if she managed to escape the horrid bus and find a pack, she was afraid she might expire from nicotine overdose if she smoked one. The patch made her feel shaky and ill. Perhaps before quitting she should have waited until she’d found her cherry picker, she mused. It wasn’t as if she was drawing them like flies to honey in her current mood. Her virginity was hardly presented in its best light when she kept snarling at every man she met. She leaned back against the cracked seat, wincing when the bus hit a pothole and caused the wiry coils of the seat to dig into her shoulder blade. Even the smooth, mysterious, slate-gray surface of Loch Ness beyond the rattling window that wouldn’t stay closed when it rained — and wouldn’t stay open otherwise — failed to intrigue her. “Gwen, are you feeling all right?” Bert Hardy asked kindly from across the aisle. Gwen peered at Bert through her Jennifer Aniston fringed bangs, expensively beveled to attract her own Brad Pitt. Right now, they simply tickled her nose and annoyed her. Bert had
