Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect intro to worker placement I have been slowly introducing my girl friend to Euro games. I was scared to try this one with her but decided before buying to download the Ipad app. After she played it a couple of times she wanted to try the actual version. It is an easy game to learn fast paced. There is a lot of strategy involved in this game if you make the wrong move you will fall to defeat. Every time I play this game it always comes down to the bonus round.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent game! As an individual relatively new to Euro-style games like this one, I have found it to be an enormous amount of fun, even after having played it multiple times. There is certainly some luck involved, but I have never felt as though I had no control over the outcome, and while some strategies may well be better than others in this way or that, it feels as though there is a variety of ways to succeed. It's relatively easy to pick up and get playing with enough complexity to keep you playing it again and again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Best for less experienced Euro boardgamers This is a good, fun boardgame, no question. However, people less experienced with Euro-style boardgames will get more out of it. After two games it seems the single best way to win is to focus on completing quests, and any other strategy is a distraction. That, and the fact the luck factor has a little more control over who wins than I would prefer, are what pull this game down a bit. By comparison, the better Euro-style boardgames offer more than a single viable strategy to win, and rely less on random luck or have ways to offset bad luck (e.g. trading in Catan). As an experienced Euro-boardgamer I still found the game a fun fantasy based alternative to the purely historical based Euro-games.
