I got this book from the local library to flick through to try and gain some knowledge on make-up. I've seen Carmindy on WNTW and loved her work.

This book is really good for make-up beginners. Carmindy goes through the various types of make-up (ex. liquid and powder foundation, etc) and explains the pros and cons, and what they work best for.

She gives a nice every day natural look (which only takes 5 mins when mastered) and then gives ways on how to expand for other options (ex. special events, trends, age-appropriate, etc).

Her models never look like they're wearing 20 pounds of make-up. She keeps her looks stlyish and elegent. The accompanying photos are great.

She gives recommendations on products and tools for a low-end budget and a high-end budget. Carmindy also gives color examples for people based on age, skin/hair color, etc.

A little more info on physically applying the make-up would be nice. She does give some, but since I'm a complete beginner, a little more detail would be nice.

I'm getting her other books from the library to see what other tips and info she gives.

This book is a good starter book for makeup ideas, but it's lacking in application techniques. It has a lot of colour suggestions, and the best tools to use, but I wished it had pictures on how to apply the makeup. Otherwise, very useful, and the pictures are amazing.

I bought this book for my teenage niece who watches Carmindy on What Not To Wear. She is absolutely delighted to put her icon's makeup tips into everyday practice. With her busy schedule, a 5 minute guide is perfect. I would certainly recommend this book to every woman who enjoys wearing makeup.
