About the Author

"Ellen Roseman is a stalwart fighter for consumer rights. She's covered consumer issues throughout her career as a journalist at the Toronto Star from 1997 to the present, and at The Globe and Mail from 1975 to 1996. Readers love her ability to make the complex simple, and to write about relevant topics that touch their personal lives. Ellen's ""Money 101"" and ""Money 201"" columns in the Sunday Star were an instant hit with people anxious to shore up their financial foundations. And her Saturday consumer advocacy column, ""On Your Side,"" has helped recover thousands of dollars for Toronto Star readers. She is a frequent guest on radio and TV public affairs programs and a regular columnist on CBC Radio's The Business Network.

Ellen is the author of six books: Consumer Beware (1974), Canadian Consumers' Survival Book, with Phil Edmonston (1977), Canadian Parents' Sourcebook, with Colleen Darragh (1986), Ellen Roseman's Money Guide for Modern Families (1995), Money 101 (2002) and Money 201 (2003).
