Reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent accessory! Definitely more up-to-date than Monster Manual II, the publisher knew that this book was coming just before the roll-out of the 3.5 edition of D&D, and as such, it doesn't have much in the way of modification for your game to bring it up to date. The download, available from Wizards of the Coast's website, converts the book to 3.5 in very few pages. The monsters included finally go to the lower end of the Challenge Rating scale, for those of you wanting to challenge players at the start of the game - indeed, that's one of the things I really liked about the book - introducing new low-level challenges was a nice thing to spring on long-time players of the D&D game, who have so much 'meta-game' knowledge that often unless the threat is brand new, they just don't know fear it, as they know all about it. Still not as good as Monster Manual IV, but a good addition - definitely better than Monster Manual II if you're in 3.5 edition.
