Spencer stole her sister''s boyfriend. Aria is brokenhearted over her English teacher. Emily likes her new friend Maya . . . as much more than a friend. Hanna''s obsession with looking flawless is making her sick. And their most horrible secret yet is so scandalous that the truth would ruin them forever.

And why shouldn''t I tell? They deserve to lose it all. With every crumpled note, wicked IM, and vindictive text message I send, I''ll be taking these pretty little liars down. Trust me, I''ve got enough dirt to bury them alive.

Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good I enjoyed this book as well as the first one, but again it's more of introduction no big action really happens, but you can be sure that A is there to mess up their lives no matter what, it's essential to read all the books to get an understanding of who is who, and of everything else. I recommend the whole series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better do what -A says, or your secret is out. "An eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind." -Gandhi The second book to the Pretty Little Liars series, Flawless, we're back and we're following the lives of the four reunited friends - Emily, Aria, Hanna and Spencer. Three years ago, their best friend disappeared without a trace and was never found - until now. Alison’s body was discovered in her old backyard, but the question is, who was the one to put her there? While the police open the murder investigation for the second time and hope to have more luck, the girls are made to go through the tough process and the loss of their best friend all over again. You think seeing it plastered all over the TV and reliving the moments of their friend, the late Alison DiLaurentis, is enough to worry about but all of the girls are still being harassed by the mysterious -A. The threatening anonymous messages aren't letting down and could unravel the lives of the girls at any moment - one by one. Making them admit their deep dark secrets or spilling the secrets for them. A bitter breakup takes place after Emily’s boyfriend witnesses a same sex smooch between her and her new friend Maya. Emily can't deny the sparks that fly between them and the way Maya makes her feel but is too scared to travel down the lesbian road because of what her friends and family might think or say about her. Trying to keep her mind off Maya and convince herself out of the inevitable, she turns to the creepy turned dreamy boy that they haven't seen since 'The Jenna Thing' happened. Two relationships come to halt in Aria's life, thanks to -A. The first is the marriage that ties her family together after her Mother is let in on a little secret that aria has been keeping quiet for her father for quite a few years - his affair with one of his students. The second is the forbidden romance between herself and her hunky English teacher, Ezra. He reads a text on Aria's phone which leads him to believe she is talking openly about their relationship. Everything seems to be crumbling away for poor Hanna. Her life is spiraling out of her control and she can't seem to get a grip on it. Newly single, getting caught stealing, crashing a car while under the influence and when she thinks she just might be getting her father back in her life, her ugly (on the inside) step-sister makes sure that it's never going to happen with her manipulative ways. Who was caught with their hand in the cookie jar? Oh, Spencer was. She covets her sister's boyfriend behind her back and gets caught red handed. After her perfect older sister runs to tell the family, they pretend like Spencer doesn't exist at all and forbid her to see Wren ever again. Will she listen? Of course not, she is young and in love. In the end, things don't work out quite like the fairy tale Spencer had imagined. Like I said in my review for the first book in the series, it's a fun and light read to pick up. I had it glued to my hands the first time I read it because it just sucked me in with all the drama and mystery. I like that the girls deal with real problems like relationships, family issues and sexual orientation. The only thing I didn't like is that the girls aren't open about what -A says to each of them and what their own secrets are. I don't know why, but it just irks me to hell. So all in all, I really love this series but if you're not into drama filled YA series for teen girls then this isn't the book for you. Next book is Perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Out of the first four Pretty Little Liars books, this one would have to be the most boring but it is definately worth reading, being that you have to read it to get to the next book. It has a scandal and its very suspensful, just like the first one. This one doesnt have as many twists and turns like the others do, but I still couldn't put the book down and I finished it in less than 3 days. -Recomended-

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Flawless girls are dirty too ** Some spoilers for the previous book, Pretty Little Liars, will occur** Flawless is the second book in the Pretty Little Liars series. It continues with as much promised drama as the first book. So here’s the basic throw down for Flawless. The missing girl, Alison, was found dead after 3 years of being declared missing. Even with Alison’s death, Spencer, Aria, Hanna and Emily are still being harassed by texts, emails and letters threatening them do what “A” tells them to do or he/she will bust their big dirty secrets to the people who it will affect the most. The ex best friends still keep their secrets from each other even after they promised they’d tell each other when the threats started again. They become suspicious of each other being this evil genius. There’s other suspects like Melissa, Spencer’s sister who seems to be the devil incarnate in a pretty perfect package and who can wrap anyone around her pinky finger even her parents. Then there’s Toby. Toby lived next door to Alison and was always creeping around watching the girls. He comes off as crazy, obsessed and disturbingly dark. Alison and Toby have a few secrets of their own from most the girls, only Spencer stumbles into what really went on between them. Toby returns to town for Alison’s memorial, and brings back old ghosts for the pretty little brutal liars. Only Toby seems changed at a closer look, almost friendly, charming and caring. But things aren’t always as they appear. In flawless the hot little liars try to keep their love lives, friendships, family and school life in complete order.. flawless. But A has bigger and better ideas in mind for them. We’re still left wondering if that’s Alison’s body they really found and if she is dead, who is A and how do they see everything at once and know so much about the secretive past. As shallow as Spencer, Aria, Hanna and Emily come off sometimes there’s real heart and substance to what they want and what they lie about. It almost seems intentionally good sometimes. The males in the book seem so very fickle and easily manipulated by anything female, except for Sean. The parents are so wrapped up in their own drama how could they possibly be a good role model for these insecure growing girls. All that said I love it. Its messy and its not too far from reality, sadly. The twists and turns in Flawless were superior to those in the first book. Common sense tells me we won't find out who the mysterious A is until the end of the series. What else would carry on the series? I’m still completely hooked with this mysterious teen drama.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Are we ever going to find out who A is? That is the most annoying part of this series - the mystery of who is writing the text messages holds over from one book to the next, so the mystery is never solved. It makes it a little hard for closure! However, I thought the book did a good job making a specific story line for this novel. It did feel like its own book - not just a continuation. That said - you must read them in order. Four girls are being harassed by emails and texts from someone just signing A who knows all their secrets - from years ago before their friend Alison disappeared to what they just did in their bedroom with no one watching. Some of the content is a bit scandalous but you just can't put it down.

The four bad girls at the heart of the Pretty Little Liars series are no strangers to trouble. Now in this second title, someone named RAS is taunting them with words that could bury the girls alive with the truth.

About the Author

Sara Shepard's first story ever, which she both wrote and illustrated, was about friendly yellow creatures that lived in a backyard garden. It won second prize at the State College, Pennsylvania, library, and was bound and placed on the shelf. (The binding was yellow. The book was called Quizzles . Maybe it's still there!) Sara Shepard's second story was about a five-legged camel named Lloyd and his band of friends journeying through the human circulatory system. When Shepard was young, the things she wanted to be when she grew up were a soap opera star, a designer for LEGO, a Claymation artist, a geneticist, a fashion magazine editor, and, most of all, a writer. She grew up in Pennyslvania, on Philadelphia's Main Line, and went to college at New York University in 1995, the height of the club kid era. While in college, she bought many pairs of purple vinyl pants, loud leather jackets, brightly colored club kid sneakers, and even a Day-Glo pacifier. After recovering from that unfortunate but short-lived phase, she had a series of jobs? interning at Elle magazine, filing important documents at J.P. Morgan, and writing and editing at Time Inc. At each of these jobs, she kept a separate folder on her computer of stories she wrote when she had free time. Eventually, she got an MFA at Brooklyn College, started receiving evil text messages from someone only known as A, nearly got run over by her best friend's SUV, and kept thinking she saw dead people everywhere.
