    Fantastic message
    This is a wonderful message for children and very beautifully illustrated. I think it is about time that children were made more aware of the dangers of smoking s othat they can make healthier lifestyle choices as teenagers. I loved this book !

    a gentle childrens book
    This poem has many versions and adaptations and this is a bright, gentle version for young readers. I have a 1950's version called "night before christmas", and it references another title "a visit from Saint Nicholas", looking at the various adaptations gives an interesting view of changing attitudes over time.

    "What gives you the right to change a poem that was written by Clement Clarke Moore (1779 - 1863) The scariest thing to consider now is who will be the next do-gooder to decide that other writings past or present offend someone and change it to suit the times or their personal beliefs. The repercussions on what you’re doing here are enormous and frightening and I'm willing to bet it’s only the beginning."

About the Author

Clement C. Moore (1779-1863) is widely regarded as the very poet of Christmas Eve. Much of the way we have come to celebrate December 24th is based on his portrayal of a jolly Santa, who along with his team of reindeer brings happiness to children and joy to the world. Twas the Night Before Christmas was originally published in the New York Troy Sentinel newspaper in 1823. It has become the most famous poem in the English language. In 2011, various editions of this enchanting poem spent thirty-six weeks on the New York Times best-seller's list in the children's category.
