Putnam Adult | May 3, 2013 | Hardcover

Quicksilver: Book Two Of The Looking Glass Trilogy is rated 3.3333 out of 5 by 3.
In the New York Times-bestselling author''s latest Arcane Society novel, a paranormal killer pushes an unlikely duo''s powers and passions to the limit.

Virginia Dean wakes at midnight beside a dead body, with a bloody knife in her hand and no memory of the evening''s events. Dark energy, emanating from the mirrors lining the room, overpowers her senses. With no apparent way in or out, she is rescued by a man she has met only once before, but won''t soon forget.

Owen Sweetwater inherited his family''s talent for hunting the psychical monsters who prey on London''s women and children, and his investigation into the deaths of two glass-readers has led him here. The high-society types of the exclusive Arcane Society would consider Virginia an illusionist, a charlatan, even a criminal, but Owen knows better. Virginia''s powers are real-and they just might be the key to solving this challenging case.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The Looking Glass Trilogy Book Two Good, Light Read. Enjoyable. But if you read one you have read them all. They all have the same story line. Man meets woman, they have hot steamy sex and are together forever. Along the lines of Danielle Steele's writing. I made the mistake of reading all three books back to back. "Trilogy", expecting an ongoing story line but did not find one. Yes there was mention of J

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Victorian-era Arcane story The Arcane series is just light, fluffy easy-to-read fun. This is one of the ones from the Victorian past. These stories are entertaining, and perhaps a bit melodramatic, but still good as a fast read.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Story As usual, Amanda Quick delivers a sold story in the Looking Glass series. The Sweetwater family, who were also mentioned in the Burning Lamp triology, are the stars of this book and they do not disappoint. The story moves right along with lots of suspects, near misses, and romance.
