Raging Star: Dust Lands: 3 is rated 4 out of 5 by 2.
The much-anticipated, thrilling conclusion to Moira Young''s Dust Lands trilogy.
When the star reader, Auriel Tai, challenged Saba to seize her destiny and defeat DeMalo and the Tonton, Saba was confident in her purpose. Then she met DeMalo and he confounded all expectations with his seductive vision of a healed earth, a New Eden. DeMalo and Saba had an intense and passionate encounter - physical, emotional and psychic - that changed her life, and now he wants Saba to join him, in life and work, to create and build a healthy, stable, sustainable world...for the chosen few.
Jack''s choice is clear: to fight DeMalo and try to stop his dangerous New Eden project. Still uncertain, her connection with DeMalo a secret, Saba commits herself to the fight. Joined by her brother Lugh, anxious for the land in New Eden, Saba leads an inexperienced guerilla band against the powerfully charismatic DeMalo, in command of his settlers and the Tonton militia.
What chance do they have? Saba must act. And be willing to pay the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this ending! I was highly anticipating the release of REBEL STAR but I also wanted to make sure I was ready for the conclusion. I avoided reading this for a couple of months only because I didn't want it to end. You can say I wanted to keep myself immersed in Saba's story. In that case, I got my wish because this was all about Saba taking down DeMelo. His tyranny had to end and what better way then infiltrate his mission in life? I found the beginning to be very slow and boring. The only parts driving me go keep going was the parts where the traitor was talking about Jack. The middle finally picked up and the ending was just intense. I didn't know what to feel to be honest. I'm still upset about it. The traitor is finally revealed and even though I guessed right, I still didn't want it to be that person. I mean it tore me apart..AHHH Overall, it was a great ending to the trilogy, even if there were some twists and turns coming at you from every corner. I will miss Saba and the gang, though they'll always be in the books so we can re-read them over again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fast-Paced and Action-Packed Conclusion! "Raging Star" the fast-paced and exciting conclusion to the Dust Lands Trilogy is filled with betrayal, lies, secrets and deception as Saba struggles to defeat Seth DeMalo who wants to create a New Eden for a select few. When she and her band of guerilla warriors blow up a bridge killing wagons full of Chosen and slaves, Saba's escape brings about a chance meeting with DeMalo who gives her an ultimatum; freedom for her band if she surrenders and marries him. Although her heartstone burns not only for Jack but DeMalo, Saba will do everything she can to undermine the despot's power and end the game before the blood moon. Jack, presumed dead by the rebels has gone undercover working with a small group of insurgents while keeping in touch with the legendary Angel of Death. Although he wants to fight DeMalo's tyranny, even killing him, Jack agrees to Saba's plan to subvert his power base from within New Eden. What neither of them realize is that there is a traitor within their ranks and that a violent and dangerous confrontation may not only harm her loved ones, but destroy her relationship with Jack. Yet Saba is not about to back down, she's willing to take a chance and embrace her destiny. Moira Young sets the stage in a world controlled by a tyrant who uses Wrecker technology to rule with absolute authority, violence and fear. While the slaves provide labour, the Tonton security, the Chosen are matched, farm the land and procreate; their babies the lifeblood of a community obedient to DeMalo. Only Saba, the Angel of Death and her Free Hawks stand between DeMalo and total domination. The plot is action-packed, suspense building as Saba begins to believe that defeating DeMalo means greater subterfuge rather than bloodshed. In this story the dialect is folksy-unpretentious and simple-and laced with, colourful and down-to-earth characters like Peg the FLIGHT, a skinny old fossil who travels by junkflyer. Even Saba's two sidekicks, Track her wolfdog and Nero, her crow add their own brand of excitement and uproar to the fight. The core characters are well-developed and realistic in this dystopian world where it takes courage and determination to survive. Saba the game changer is strong, single-minded and devoted to her family and friends. A skilled warrior with the weight of responsibility for the safety of her band on her shoulders she tends to be arrogant, and impulsive when she should be more cautious. Often she acts before thinking. Jack the spy and scout in love with Saba is dependable, tenacious, and pragmatic. He feels betrayed after the truth of DeMalo's relationship with her is revealed; her lies undermining his trust. Seth DeMalo a dangerous smooth talker, liar and deceiver says he wants to guide his people, free them from hardship and suffering, but he actually wants to control them. Obsessed with Saba he's willing to offer her a bargain she may not be able to refuse. All the core characters add power, drama and passion to a story that culminates in an ending that will surprise the reader. I thoroughly enjoyed this explosive conclusion to the Dust Lands Trilogy and intend to look for more novels by Moira Young in future.
