Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More than a novel. Once again, Sylvia Day outdoes other writers with her sequel that is awesomely not redundant. Instead of rereading half of the first novel, you pick up right where Bared to You left off, delving into the amazing adventure that awaits you. And although there is a lot of erotica, I don't even consider this erotic romance because the book is written formidably. I love it and I am engorged in the third installment currently.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Expected so much more :( I'm about 3/4 of the way through and can barely get myself to finish it -- it's been 6 weeks since I started it and I'm not a slow reader! I really liked the first one, but this one really lacks so much to keep me going. Not sure I'll bother with the 3rd book, if & when it comes out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Intriguing 2nd novel in Crossfire Series The Good Stuff Fabulous character development As mentioned in the first novel I was extremely impressed with the discussion of therapy and working towards a healthy relationship Understand Gideon a lot better but still don't approve of his controlling behaviour Extremely erotic As mentioned before I find the relationship between Eva and Cary to be beautiful - true friendship Intriguing mystery (though I totally figured it out) The inclusion of Eva's dad into the story is a wonderful added touch Nice to see Gideon opening up about what happened Looking forward to reading the next book in the series and am cheering for these two damaged souls to work things out Raw, dark, honest and yet that hint of hope The Not So Good Stuff Frustrating at times because of the decisions the characters make - works for the story though A lot of repetition Eva was a wee bit of a wuss through the first half of novel -- but it does get better - again just frustrating Favorite Quotes/Passages "Most suits made the man. Gideon did things to a three-piece suit that should've been illegal." “The only way I'm keeping my hands off her is if I'm dead. Find another way to fix us.” "Expect believe him. Which is what you should have done as his mother." Who Should/Shouldn't Read Definitely for those who enjoyed the first book 4 Dewey's I received this from Penguin UK in exchange for an honest review

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than 50 Shades Really liked the book. Thought it was better written than 50 Shades. However I found that parts of the book weren't complete or jumped. The 1st one did that too. Hope the 3rd book comes out shortly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Amazing!! I loved loved loved this book. It was worth waiting for, and I've read it twice now. I can't wait until the last part comes out. Sylvia Days other book "Seven Years to Sin", is allot like this book only set in a different era, so if your looking for something to read to pass the time until the next book give it a try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than 50! I found this story line more complete than 50 Shades. The characters personalities are more real. Gideon and Eva are exquisite together, you can't help but cheer for them. I can't wait for the final book! This one made me cry. :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I threw the book in the garbage I didn't mind the first book in this series. It was a bit of rip-off of Fifty but I enjoyed it somewhat. I looked forward to this book - but was horribly, bitterly disappointed. It's WAY over dramatic (not in the good way that Fifty was)....it was a lame story that I never really understood. Poorly written - pathetic!!! Seriously...DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS ONE!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great read! I normally don't Ike books that have simple concepts. I usually like something that you got to stop and think about, but this was a great book. Looking forward to the next and I hope she keeps on writing them,

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Something missing. It was good but compares to Bared to you, I was disappointed. It just was missing something, can't put my finger on it.
Date published: 2012-11-02
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still reeling from this book. It is pretty amazing. It's much better than her first novel in the Crossfire series and I've grown to love the relationship between Gideon and Eva a lot more than the one E.L James established between Christian and Ana. I definitely recommend reading this book. It's pretty great. You will not be disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Still On The Fence Book two in the Crossfire novels picks up where Bared To You left off and lets just say it's not an easy ride. I will say that I think this book was more original material because Bared To You felt like a copy of Fifty Shades but this came seemed much more original and her own. There was still a lot of problems for me in this book, the characters were really getting on my nerves, there was a constant back and forth between Gideon and Eva and they never really solved there problems but instead hoped in bed together to stop fighting. I think the relationship in this book was really destructive and it dragged the book a little. The story itself was pretty good and it was worth the read but the way the characters were acting brought the book down for me. I will read the next book in the series but I'm still on the fence about these books I still prefer Fifty Shades. :0)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Slightly more original than book 1 I give this book 3.5 stars. I felt it tried to have more of its own voice, and plagerized 50 Shades less - which was my chief complaint re book 1 in this series. This book didn't advance the storyline very much, but it was enjoyable all the same. I found that the back stories of Eva and Gideon which are at the heart of this book wrapped up entirely too quickly and neatly - but I do plan to read the sequel!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING! What can I say... pretty amazing! Well most of it. I was excited for this one to be released. I bought it as soon as I woke up, and started reading the first chance I had. I've been looking forward to this one since I finished Bared to You in August. It did take me a little bit to get into it. I just wasn't feeling it - and was making a lot of connections with Fifty Shades of Grey, (and Fifty Shames), both of which I was trying REALLY hard not to do. Especially with Fifty Shames. But eventually, at one point, it just sucked me in, and I was hooked. I also read it on my Kobo Vox, which has something called 'pulse' which allows you to comment on individual pages (or the book as a whole) and see what others think. I must admit, I made a few comments all throughout the book - both on things I liked, and things I didn't like. I didn't like the fact that her period was brought up SO MUCH, especially in the first half of the book. I found it overkill. And this is probably one area that I was drawing similarities from (of the many, they are pretty in your face!) But I felt it was way way to much attention to it. Yes, and I am female. And yes, I do understand their purpose, value, and inconvience, but it wasn't needed that much. I honestly was half expected the "surprise, we're having a baby' routine, and I wasn't fond of that idea. (and no, I didn't read the synopsis of this book before I read it... I find I am reading them less and less, and just reading the book instead, for whatever reason I have, the cover, the review, another person - and to be honest, I still haven't read it. I didn't like the level of stress between the characters, all the time. I found that it too tense, and in most situation, they'd of seperated... kind of took away from the reality of the book in a real life situation. But, at the same token, it is fiction, and a romance, and wow! I loved the ending. I loved that neither Gideon or her digging got to the bottom of it, but that a good-hearted person told her. While it would have been very interesting to see how she would eventually have figured it out - or Gideon breaking down and telling her (which, admit it, isn't his style), I was glad with the way it was done. I also loved the closure that this route allowed things to take. Now I am very curious to see what happens in book four Entwined With You. (due out Dec 31, 2012)
