Reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Songs In Ordinary Time I found the struggles and dreams of many of the characters were not unlike our own. Although a well written story, I found the characters were undeveloped and the plot just went on and on with no ending to speak of. An OK book - nothing to write home about.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A long good read! I enjoyed this (long) book! Each chapter talked about the different point of views of each character, that kept the story interesting! I liked how the author did that. The story depressed me at times because it seemed that every character was so miserable, but it was also reality for those characters. I was especially frustrated with Marie, how could a character with such strength be so weak?! It's a long book, so I recommend this book to those who have patience! It keeps you wondering how things will "end up" for each character.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Songs in Ordinary Time A wonderful story about nearly all of the population of Atkinson, Vermont in 1960. The Fermoyoles, LaChances, Menkos, et al, combine to make a great story. Morris alternates the point of view constantly so you discover everyone's motivations. Give this book a chance, even if it is an Oprah pick.
