The Body Book

by Cameron Diaz

HARPERCOLLINS PUBLISHERS | December 31, 2013 | Hardcover

The Body Book is rated 4.8333 out of 5 by 6.

Throughout her career, Cameron Diaz has been a role model for millions of women. By her own admission, though, this fit, athletic star wasn''t always as health-conscious as she is today. Her consumption of bad foods had an effect on her skin and her body. "If you are what you eat," she says, "I was a bean burrito with extra cheese and extra sauce, no onions." Learning about the inseparable link between nutrition and health was just one of the life-changing lessons that sparked Cameron''s passion to explore the best ways to care for her body. In The Body Book, she shares the knowledge she''s gained both from personal experience and from consulting with health experts.

Beginning with nutrition, Cameron explains why instead of fearing hunger, women should embrace their body''s instinct for fuel and satisfy it with whole, nutrient-dense foods.

Cameron also explains the essential role of consistent physical activity. Many women think about exercise in terms of pounds lost or muscle tone gained, but don''t realize that working up a sweat is also essential for improving mood, boosting energy levels, and preventing disease. Cameron offers tips for choosing the right exercise program and shares her own workout strategies for looking and feeling your best.

Creating a healthy, beautiful body begins with learning the facts and turning knowledge into action. In The Body Book, women will find the tools they need to build a healthier body now-so they can live joyfully in it for years to come.

Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect and exciting advice on the body I have loved every page of this book as I flipped from one page to another. It is so informative and gets down to the point. The best part is the book is written as if you are in conversation with Cameron Diaz. It will change your perspective on why you exercise and give you a whole wide new meaning to loving your body. It's my first purchase on book about exercise and diet and I love it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved this book! I truly loved this book. I have a health sciences background, so much of the science she discusses in the book I already knew; HOWEVER, I forgot how to appy the methods/ideas she presents, simply, to make me feel and look better. I have been in a rut for a while, and gaining weight, which lends to me not feeling good about myself, and Cameron helped me get back-to-basics. She reminded me how easy it is to feel good and make smart choices. I'm already seeing the change. AND, Cameron communicates in a easy fun way, so that it feels like you're having a chat with her, opposed to reading a whole "diet-heavy-how-dare-you-eat-that!" textbook. It's a good read and is helpful to boot. Good purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The body book I can't believe how much I have enjoyed reading this book so far. It trule is practical to the way people live or can live. Some of what is in the book, I have decided to implement in my own life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great advice we should all be following I was surprised by how much I liked this book. It's a very practical read that inspires. Mostly common sense advice, but written in a way that made me want to push myself to have a strong, fit body fuelled by great food. She takes it back to basics and makes not following her advice feel frankly silly. A great book for those needing a push.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cameron Makes Eating and Nutrition Make Sense! I love this book. I've been on a lot of diets - just happily following along with whatever was outlined in the diet. After reading Cameron's book how my body is fueled by food makes sense. It's beautifully written and sounds like you're having a conversation with her.
