Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life Changing I have studied so much religion and theology looking for a definition of God that made sense, that I could read and know deep down was the truth because the biblical or western religions (Christianity, Judiasm, and Islam) definition of God never felt right to me. Then I was introduced to these books and it felt like everything I have ever known or felt deep within me was confirmed. I actually felt very empowered in my beliefs and the book has changed how I see other people, thier choices, and most of all myself and how I chose to live my life. I recommmend this book to anyone willing to read with an open mind and to those who have felt disenchanted with organized religions and thier messages. However, if you are devotely religious and see your definition of God to be vengeful or see humans as sinners, and do not open your mind to the possiblity that organized religion has its own agenda don't read this. You will judge, you will be angry and you will miss the entire point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life Changing Read Read this book many years ago. It changed my life and how I look at it. as well as reaffirming many of my belief systems. I often recommend it to friends and those I meet. I have shared my copy and guard it like an anxious mother. I purchased my latest copy for a special friend as a gift. Treat yourself to a gift and get one for yourself....change your life forever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Most Important book(s) ever written or read It took me so long to read these books because I knew God was not the answer. What I didn't know was that this book is not based on a view of God I've learned from the bible or any religion. Get ready to know a very different God than the one you learned about. If you’re very firmly ensconced in your belief of your bible and your church, you should probably not read any farther. You’ll very likely be extremely unhappy with me and my sacrilege. You should probably just quit reading now before I raise your blood pressure beyond safe limits. I’ve always believed in God or at least “something” greater than us in the universe. But I’ve always held very different views of God than the bible or any religion I’ve encountered had to say on the subject. Much of what I’ve been taught from the bible and organized religion just never quite made sense to me. There was so much that felt “wrong” I found myself very hesitant to believe anything that came from these sources. The Complete Conversations with God makes perfect sense to me. Everything is explained. And explained in plain language and concepts anyone can understand. These books combine so many of the thoughts I’ve always had, but I was chastised for being blasphemous, so I kept my mouth shut. Even if these books are not conversations with God, and Mr. Neale Donald Walsch is having a conversation with himself, I believe he’s the wisest man on the planet. For me, these books have ALL of the answers to ALL of the questions. For me, it answers every single question from “What is the purpose of life?” to “What should I have for lunch today?” I bought these books for everyone important in my life. (Well not everyone, because I'm not Oprah rich.) Whether they choose to read this book or not, or whether they choose to believe what they're reading, I believe they now own the only instruction manual for life they'll ever need. First, nothing is blasphemous because God is unconditionally accepting. And God has a great sense of humor too. He invented humor. What if God doesn’t need, want or require our obedience, our worship, or our servitude? What if God doesn’t “want” anything at all? What if God's love is not conditional on following His laws because She doesn't have any laws? There is no hell or even purgatory. There is no Satan or evil or Ten Commandments. What if the Ten Commandments are not commandments at all, but Ten Commitments to us that we will not want to do any of these things when we're fully enlightened? What if God doesn't have a plan for you? What if you chose this life and the path it's taken? What if you’ve chosen how and when you will die? What if you’ve been given the choice to live or die perhaps many times already in this life? What if God is unconditionally accepting of ALL the experiences EVERYONE is choosing to have in their life. (yes, even murder...do we know for a fact that the victim hasn't chosen to come to this life to help the murderer experience being a killer?) What if we have an unlimited number of lifetimes to experience anything we choose? What if there is nothing else but this unending cycle of choosing more experiences in more lives or even the same life over again? What if, instead of a sad funeral, we could celebrate death as a glorious graduation? Another soul has completed the journey they came to this life to experience. What if nothing is a problem but only an experience? Car accidents, hurricanes, illness…all just experiences we’ve chosen to have. What if how we choose to view these experiences is “the problem”? And even that’s not a problem. How you’re choosing to view anything is simply the experience you’re choosing to have. The person you’re choosing to be. What if every thought we have and every action we take is based on either love or fear? There are no other emotions or justifications for anything. There are only variations of love or fear. What if we can literally change our life with our consciousness? What if we can literally change the world with our collective consciousness? What if there are more worlds than we could count? You may have even chosen to live on those worlds in another life. And maybe another part of your soul is having that experience right now. I know not everyone will embrace the ideas in this book, but what an amazingly peaceful, loving and joyful world we would live in if they did. I know for sure that it's changed the way I view everyone and everything. It all makes sense to my soul. I feel like I’ve come home. The joy these ideas have brought me is unparalleled. This book has given me freedom. Freedom from fear of death. Freedom from fear of making wrong choices in this life. Freedom to forgive. And getting rid of all that fear leaves a whole lot more room for love. For the next little while, the experience I'm choosing in this life is to re-read The Complete Conversations with God and to read the rest of Neal Donald Walsch's books.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Changed my Life For anyone that is in search of understanding your purpose, this book is for you! I was at a time in my life where I felt like I was stuck in the middle. Nothing too good or too bad was going on. There was no up or down to go to. I felt like there should have been more to my journey. Then my brother reccomended this book and it changed my life forever. It put everyday thoughts into perspective. It helped me understand the bigger picture and I am now on a journey filled with meaning. It truly changed my life! If you read Conversations, I guarantee it will change yours too!
