The Fall of Five

by Pittacus Lore

HarperCollins | August 27, 2013 | Kobo Edition (eBook)

The Fall of Five is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 5.

The Fall of Five is the fourth novel in the New York Times bestselling I Am Number Four series by Pittacus Lore. The Garde are finally reunited, but do they have what it takes to win the war against the Mogadorians?

John Smith—Number Four—thought that things would change once the Garde found one another. They would stop running. They would fight the Mogadorians. And they would win.

But he was wrong. After facing off with the Mogadorian ruler and almost being annihilated, the Garde know they are drastically unprepared and hopelessly outgunned. Now they're hiding out in Nine's Chicago penthouse, trying to figure out their next move.

The six of them are powerful, but they're not strong enough yet to take on an entire army—even with the return of an old ally. To defeat their enemy, the Garde must master their Legacies and learn to work together as a team. More important, they'll have to discover the truth about the Elders and their plan for the Loric survivors.

And when the Garde receive a sign from Number Five—a crop circle in the shape of a Loric symbol—they know they are so close to being reunited. But could it be a trap? Time is running out, and the only thing they know for certain is that they have to get to Five before it's too late.

The Garde may have lost battles, but they will not lose this war.

Lorien will rise again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Starting to feel like this was written with merchandising in mind Good character developement. Not a lot actually happens in this book. I got attached to the characters in the story and am rather sad that One, Two and Three were killed- all those Legacies lost! I was dissapointed when I readlised that the story ended with about 50 pages left in the book: Those were reserved for previews of his other books, Secret Files, Lost Legacies etc... I feel like this is being drawn out so that he can sell more books and more "stuff" related to the story. The books are being published too far apart for me to get back "into" them easily or quickly.... I predict nine books in total.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Fall Of Five This story line had twists that you would not expect.  I do recommend that you read "The Secret Files", prior to reading this portion of the series.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very suspenseful, but again, nothing amazing. Like every predecessor to the first novel, I AM NUMBER FOUR, there is not that much that happens in the books. This book may actually had the least development out of all the books after the first one. However, it's always jam packed with suspense and action that it makes the book well worth it for any fan of the series. This forth book is predictable, and it lacks a large battle near the end like the other three books, but it's suspenseful enough that this book is worth the read. What I liked more about this book than the previous (book 3...I forget what it's called, The Rise of Nine?) is that there are less point of views. The previous book had so many perspective (and all in a different font) that I got confused as to who was speaking most of the time. This book has three perspectives which is a whole lot easier to handle. Two more books until it's finished! Another year to wait for the next one! Edit: Upon reading my review for the previous book, it turns out that book also had three perspectives. But I found it much easier to understand who was speaking in THIS book, probably because it doesn't present any NEW characters with a narration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Cant' Wait" I'm really excited for this book, and I don't usually get excited about new books. I usually wait awhile until they're out. But this book looks like be the best book in the series yet. TheBookReviewer
