Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything you need to know My mom bought me this book as soon as I told her I was pregnant and I tell you, the week by week notes, pictures and information are a lot of fun. I make it a weekly routine to read these with my husband. Now that the baby is coming close it's nice to see what I'm looking at in the upcoming weeks. This book is really what it says - it's the Bible for your pregnancy. It has everything you want to know and some things you don't. I keep it next to my bed along with The Everything Get Ready for Baby book for whenever a questions pops in to my head. I feel more comforted knowing what's coming up in the next month and the step by step on bathing and dressing is extremely helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic My wife and I did not like "What to Expect..." as we found it to be more negative and "don't do this, don't do that" than anything. This book is informative, interesting, easy to understand and very positive. Fantastic charts, pictures, etc. Truly a great book and a must have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helpful and Concise This is an excellent, must-have resource for anyone who is thinking of becoming or who is pregnant. It is literally an encyclopedia of everything having to do with conception, pregnancy, childbirth and the first year of your baby's life. It is very informative and straightforward, providing all sorts of information. It definitely allows the new mother to be more informed of everything from morning sickness to learning about the different forms of pain management during labour.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly Recommended for First-Time Moms Expecting my first child, I was eager to find a book that provided explanations about the things that would happen during pregancy. It has a terrific section on how the baby develops from week to week, from a tiny embryo to the full size baby you will deliver in about 40 weeks (or whenever baby decides to make an appearance!). It also has a section detailing the changes you should expect from week to week. It is good to keep an open mind - everyone is different and should not expect to experience all of these changes - I didn't necessarily experience all of them - or at the time the book said they should happen. This book is full of information on diet and nutrition, the types of testing you might expect during your pregnancy and why, the benefits of exercise, what to expect during labour and delivery and post-partum. There is so much more...too much to list here. This is a practical guide to pregnancy for any first-time mother (and father) and I am sure a benefit to all other expecting moms and dads too. A worthwhile read for sure!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Book I really enjoy this book. I like the pictures & diagrams as well I think it takes a different approach from What to Expect & The Mother of all pregnancy books. Its a bit more straight forward, without any "sugar coating". It really is a pregnancy bible!

Read from the Book

Introduction Since it was first published in 2003, The Pregnancy Bible has proved to be invaluable to the expectant mothers and fathers who acquired a copy. Pregnancy is a unique experience and one that you will want to enjoy while doing what''s best for your baby. Today, a great deal more is known about the risks to a baby''s normal development, and also what a woman needs to do to successfully meet the challenges of pregnancy, labor, and delivery than was possible in the past. However, all the information that is now available, particularly relating to situations that may be, evenly remotely, out of the ordinary, is rarely known in total to a single physician, no matter how well trained and experienced he or she is. That is why, to produce a thoroughly researched book, The Pregnancy Bible was created with a team of experts in every related field including genetics, midwifery, gynecology, and obstetrics, pregnancy nutrition and exercise, psychology, fetology, and pediatrics. Additionally, teachers in natural childbirth techniques, breastfeeding, and baby care were consulted. Five years on, we''ve gone back to the experts to ensure that the information is thoroughly up to date. This revised edition of The Pregnancy Bible continues to cover every aspect of pregnancy, birth, and new parenthood. Although it cannot replace the care and attention that you''ll receive from your healthcare providers, who''ll know you as an individual, it can supplement that advice, explain procedure
