From Our Editors

Recently widowed, Penn Cage decides to set off for home with his daughter, leaving the thralls of Houston for what he perceived to be the warmth and welcome of his old town of Natchez, Mississippi, the jewel of the antebellum South. Much to his dismay, he is greeted by a blackmail that haunts his father's very rigid existence. The town begins to close in on Penn, who is consumed with trying to dispel once and for all the lies and rumours that put his father on trial for murder so long ago. The darkness of the past leaves his family alone in a fight against the ghost of J. Edgar Hoover's FBI policies and turns The Quiet Game into the kind of tense drama we have come to expect from Greg Iles

Employee Review

In my opinion, this is a great book. A man comes home in hopes of giving his daughter an environment in which to heal from the recent death of her mother. But instead he finds himself in a whirlwind of danger -- a danger brought back from thirty years ago. From the very first page, this novel has so many twists and turns that there is no way of guessing what will happen next. There is something here for everyone: conspiracy, romance, suspense and action.
