Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite trilogy ever! I'm 20 years old and I've read A LOT of teen books till' now. This series is hands down my favorite. No matter how much praise I give to the triology, it will never give it justice. Every girl has to read these books!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Okay I was really excited about this book because I heard so many good things about it .. I'm really disappointed. Belly annoyed me so much. She's 15 going on 16 and still acts like she's 13. When the guys didn't want to hang out with her she was always like "I'm going to tell my mom". She was always complaining about EVERYTHING, that the boys weren't paying her attention, that her bestfriend was getting more attention than her, that her mom was annoying ( even tho she's really sweet ). She also couldn't stop talking about Conrad. Her whole life revolved around him. It was bording on obsession.. I don't get why she was so in love with him because he had nothing special, he just didn't sparkle. He was just being rude to her like 24/7. It was so annoying how he disrespected her everytime but she didn't seem to care because she was "in love with him"... This guy Jeremy was really in love with her, he was sweet and actually paid attention to her but she didn't seem to care because she couldn't stop thinking of Conrad. I really wanted to slap her a some point.   It had some cute & fun scenes. I'm not saying the book was awful but i just don't think it was as great as what people make it to be..

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Okay I was so excited about this book because of the reviews but I was really disappointed. The story was great but i've read better. Belly is such an immature child, she's 15 going on 16 and acts like she's 13. She's always complaining about everything & it's really annoying.. All the book is about how much she loves Conrad. Everything in her life revolves around him. Conrad acts like a jerk most of the time, he's mean to her but she doesn't seem to care because she "loves" him.  Jeremiah was really sweet to her I still don't get why she was so obsessed with Conrad. He didn't sparkle or anything...  I don't think I will read the other books ..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Books for Summer You'll Ever Find!! Jenny Han's Trilogy is perhaps the absolute best three books you'll ever find to read during the summer, or any other time for that matter! I could not put any of the three books down! Perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST. BOOK. EVER. OMG!!!!!!! The Summer I Turned Pretty was sooooo amazing!!!!! I loved it soooooo much!!! Belly has been visiting Cousins Beach since she could remember. There are two cute brothers, Jeremiah and Conrad, sons of Belly's mom's best friend, Sussanah. Belly has always loved Conrad and feels that this summer will change everything. And it will.... For me, it's so hard to pick which team I was on when I started the series, Jeremiah's or Conrad's. I love them both!! But, by the time I finished it, I turned out to be Conrad's!!!! I love him!!!! Gosh, I love this series! PICK UP THIS BOOK A.S.A.P!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved, loved, loved it! Summer, the beach, tans, parties, first crushes, first kisses, first loves, forever loves. This book had it all. I felt physically and emotionally transported back to when I was 16 years old and experiencing all the emotions and changes that Belly the main character was going through. When her heart pounded in her chest, so did mine. When her eyes filled with tears out of frustration and anger, so did mine. When her heart was broken, swollen with love, or hurt, I felt it all too. I have never been so physically affected by a book as this one. It was like experiencing life at 16 all over again. The heartbreak, the crushes, the yearning - it was all my heart could handle. At 29 and happily married, it’s easy to forget about the whirlwind of emotions that you go through in your younger years, when you’re discovering first loves and all that comes with it. Would I want to go through it again? No, I wouldn’t, but I had an amazing time escaping in it. --- I really can’t rave more about this book. It sucked me in from the beginning and had me bawling my eyes out by the end. Even if you aren’t a fan of YA or love-triangles, this one was so different, and so real. While I can’t wait to get started on the next book in this trilogy, The Summer I Turned Pretty didn’t leave me on a cliff-hanger, or make me want to throw the book across the room. Sure, I want to keep reading about Belly, Jeremiah and Conrad (how could you not?!), but I can honestly say that I closed the book after reading the last page with a satisfied sigh, and tears running down my face. Rated 5 out of 5 by from "This book Has everything a girl wants in Summer" -Sarah Dessen I loved this book. I thought that this was truly amazing for someone who has only written one book before this. The characters were amazing clearly described. The plot was good but maybe could be a little more focused. The settings were great and I really like how the author made this book as real as she did. I brought new meaning to the book, plot and characters that way.The book was just overall amazing and I really liked the way she wrote and worded everything. Kudos to the author. [Jenny Han] :D

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Truly Is What Every Girl Wants Many people have told me over a few years that they've read this books and they all loved it. I saw that this book was available at my local library and I decided I might just give it a try, but I HONESTLY did not at all expect to ilke it. The hype made me more skeptical but I must say this read is truly incredible. I adored the characters and I think every girl can relate to this book in some way. I mean we all want to be beautiful, have books gawk over us, and we all of course have summer crushes and dreams. I loved how realistic the book was, I felt like I was there the whole time. I swear I felt like this book was amazing, it was just the perfect book for me. I will surely be checking out other books by Jenny Han (and i'll also continue reading this series.) LOVE YA JEREMIAH ;D

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really enjoyed it At first I thought the book was incredibly slow, but I was sorely mistaken when I finally got into it. This book is part of a series and is only a stepping stone to the other two, which were AMAZING. I recommend reading this book so you can get to the other two, which in my opinion are what make the entire series. This book was more to set the background content in motion, in order for you to know what is going on in the next two.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet but sad This book, it was indescribable! I utterly loved it! The storyline was sad and sweet in more ways than one. The way that Conrad is so protective of Belly, its really sweet, even though it drives Belly crazy! And the thing with Susannah, that's also heartbreaking. This book really had an effect on me, and gave me a bit of a reality of what boys are like. This is a really great book and I suggest any, and every girl to read it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! i read the trilogy is 3 days. I couldn't put it down! I recommend this if you like teen romance novels, or if your a teenager. I don't want to spoil it, but just give it a try! It's absolutely amazing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Enjoyed It I read this book in just over a day, it was SSOOO good, such a nice break from all the paranormal stuff I've been reading lately! Belly is such a down-to-earth girl and I could totally relate to her. I think that's pretty much how every girl feels whenever the boys decide to leave you out of everything! At first I really wanted her to be with Conrad, but then he was always so moody and distant I got tired of him before she did. Then the other guy from the bonfire comes along and I'm all like YAY but he doesn't last very long and he doesn't seem to really suit Belly's life. When we find out her mom's bff has gotten sick with cancer again, and this could be her last, I seriously balled my eyes out. I was so caught up in the story and everything felt so relate-able, it's a really incredible and enjoyable read. www.addictedtonovels.blogspot.com

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for summer! I believe I was 18 or 19 when I read this book, and I loved it as much as any younger teen girl would. You can't help but get caught up in the love story and pick a favorite brother (*cough cough* Jeremiah). It's the summer that every girl would love to have (or at least I would've loved it)! Plus, the way it ends you can't help but anticipate the sequels (which I also recommend for those who loved this).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING Well I can easily say this is my favourite book, and with 2 more books after this one they only got better. It was such a page turner, and made me want to be her in so many ways. I have given this book to all of my friends and I only get positive results. If you are looking for a teenage summer romance book, this book would be it. As well be prepared to buy the 2 after this one, because you won't be able to read another book until those are read!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Summer Read! I've been reading darker books a lot lately, and decided that I needed a light-hearted summer read. This book definitely has a feel-good aspect that I fell in love with. After I read the first chapter, I went back to the bookstore and bought the other two books in the series. I love them, and I'm flying through them so quickly. It's a great page-turner!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It was okay. I heard such great reviews for this book but it ended up being much less interesting than people made it seem. I don't know, the book was just kind of boring. I was disappointed at the end and it was really predictable. For the whole length of the book I was like, "Okay, something good is going to happen! It can't be THIS boring!" but nothing happened. It's like.. during the whole book, things DID happen but nothing REALLY happened. When I finished the book I felt like I had wasted my time and I was like, "So wtf was the point of this?" Plus, the main character kind of ticked me off. Other people seem to enjoy it so I guess it's just me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I couldn't stop turning the pages. I started this book in the afternoon and refused to go to sleep until I had turned the last page. "The summer I turned pretty" has me giggling and crying by the end. I look forward to reading the rest in the series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the most amazing perfect wonderful book i have never read such a book that i felt so connected to. the words just flow off the page and i felt like i was living in the book. of course there is twilight but i highly doubt that a pack of vampires is going to hunt me down. i just dont understand the very last page. when conrad comes for belly. what happens then? the book covers everything that a teenage or adult girl wishes she had. except for the heartbrake. a must read for anyone

Rated 5 out of 5 by from i feel pretty!! this book has everything a girl could ever want in the summer. the drama in it isn't like the others it is simple and flows very well with the concept. it surely was a great start to the series

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dreaming of Books Review Every summer Belly spends it at Cousin’s Beach with her mother and brother along with her mother’s best friend and her two boys, Conrad and Jeremiah. It might be the last summer where they will all be together as both Steven and Conrad are going off to college. It’s also the summer when Belly finally turns sixteen and she hopes this will be the summer when Conrad finally notices her. The story was very realistic with a more serious tone and basically not your typical fluffy summer read. To Belly this might be the last of the perfect summers she’s had at Cousin’s Beach. She’s growing up and doesn’t want to be seen as the tag-a-long little sister anymore. She’s getting more attention from boys but the one person who Belly’s wants to notice her has been acting indifferent to her. Everything at Cousin’s Beach is not what they used to be as both the relationship dynamics and people are changing. I fell in love with the story and the characters. The story switches between the present and the past where Belly recounts events of past summers spent at the beach. I really liked the flashbacks as it shows the depth of the story and the characters along with the relationship between Belly and them. For me this is an absolute summer must read with a laid back story that is perfect for those lazy Sunday afternoons.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A fun cute summer read This was a really great book and I actually finished it the same day I started it, it was a light and fast read and I would really recommend this book. The story was very interesting and it was also original and I really enjoyed that. Jenny Han has a really good writing style that keeps you turning the pages and wanting to find out what will happen with the characters and the story. This was almost a 5 star book for me and it would have been if Belly wasn't so annoying, that was the one flaw with this book, Belly really bugged me alot throughout the book but I still liked her charcater. Overall really good and this book ended on an interesting cliffhanger so I'm looking forward to reading the sequel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made My Heart Melt! What a heart felt and fun book to read during the summer! Reading this book makes you feel like you are at the beach and going through heart ache and break right there with the main character, Belly. It's a beautiful and cute story and I would totally recommend it to anyone who loves to read stories about fun summer love! I'm going out tonight to pick up the second book this series and can only imagine how fantastic it will be!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crazy Good! If you're looking for a great summer read, or even a cute, romantic, captivating book, do not hesitate to read this! I loved it from beginning to end, and I defiantly didn't expect it to turn out the way it did. The characters were absolutely fantastic, and the relationships they have with each other are so heartwarming that you become attached to them a long the way. What made this book so great was the chapters switched from summer to summer, so it shows how relationships grew since then, and it lets you relive some of their best memories. I finished this book in just a short amount of time, and the ending just leaves you wanting more of the characters and their unbelievable summers... Belly doesn't care about any time of the year, to her, Summer is all that matters. For as long as she can remember; her, her mother, Laurel, and her brother, Steven, head down to Cousins beach to stay at her mother's best friend's house. Belly has gone ever since she was a baby and thinking about all the summers she's spent at that beach house bring back so many memories, and now she's heading back, it's what she's been waiting for. Susannah is Laurel's best, best friend and no summer is complete without spending time with her, and her two sons, Jeremiah and Conrad. Belly looks forward to this summer especially because she hopes things will be different. Ever since she was ten years old, she has been in love with Conrad; He's, dark and handsome, though he's secretive and likes to keep to himself. To Belly, it has always been Conrad, and Jeremiah is the one who has always been there for her. He is like her older brother. They have always been great friends, but is Jeremiah thinking about their relationship differently? The summer seems to start just like it always does, traditions repeat, jokes are re-told and memories are talked about. Conrad seems to only see Belly as the same little girl, but she can tell that something is different, and Belly can see it in their eye's that they've noticed she has changed since last summer. Will she finally be able to get through to Conrad? This summer may not be the one for that, Susannah is still getting over Cancer treatment, and the something that Conrad and Jeremiah weren't supposed to know, was found out. Conrad starts to change, and he begins to hang out with a girl. Belly meets Cam, he's new but he remembers her from long ago. They spend almost every day together, and Conrad seems to care a lot about that. Though, he knows something Belly doesn't, that's leaving him spending time by himself. Belly has claimed to have lost her love for Conrad, but even she knows that that's not true. This is the story of one summer that is unlike any other. Emotions make relationships stronger, tears are shed, fights brew and love is attempted, but will it last? Belly likes Cam, she thinks of Jeremiah as a friend, and Conrad is still a mystery....This is the summer that changes everyone, and everything. I loved, loved, loved his book! And I absolutely recommend it without a doubt! I cannot wait to read the next book In this fantastic series! 5/5 2010-046

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Amazing Read! I devoured this book in just over a day! Every bit of spare time that I had, my nose was stuck in this book, walking through my house with the book opened in front of me. It wasn't a hard book to get into, as I was enraptured from the beginning. I love how the reader is able to see into Belly's younger life and the development of characters through the years. Although it was sometimes predictable, that was one of the things that I liked about it. However, there are parts that I wouldn't have assumed would happen as well. I suggest this book to anyone who likes a cute, funny, and romantic story should definitely read this book!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for!! Beautiful. I wanted an amazing summer read, and I found it. I've grown out of the "unrealistic teeny-bopper" romance novels, but this one was romantic, relatable and moving. I absolutely loved it and if you're looking for the perfect summer read, this is it!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Sweet Drink of Sunshine! I devoured this book in one sitting. I loved the characters and the superb writing. The story is a coming of age, confusing first love, adventurous stay at the cottage in summer, with a dose of life changing reality mixed in every now and then for good measure. What could be better?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Absolute Page Turner I loved this book, I read the whole thing in one sitting, and am seriously sad that its over. It was brilliantly written and had an amazing story line. Best book I have read in a long time. A definite must read. I don't want to give any spoilers so I'll stop there, but seriously give this book an honest chance.

Editorial Reviews

"Belly''s dawning awareness of her sexuality and that of the boys is a strong theme, as is the sense of summer as a separate and reflective time and place. Readers get glimpses of kisses on the beach, her best friend''s flirtations during one summer''s visit, a first date." -- Kirkus Reviews
