Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must for anyone who has gone through the event. A week or two after having experienced a stillbirth, I set out to find literature that would help me through my grief and even the idea of trying again for another pregnancy. It was painful to see so many titles within this scope, and also very confusing to find one which one would fit my need. Reviews were almost non-existent, most likely due to the difficulty of the subject, however after some reserach and recommendations, I settled on this book. The first half of the book deals with grief, and discusses the many medical reasons that could have led to the event of loss. It also dealt with questions which most women will face which is; should I try again and when? The second half of the book offers advice on dealing with a subsequent pregnancy. Although, I have only read the first half of the book, I have to admit that it was of great help. It help me weigh my options of pursuing our dream of having a 'living' child. I have to agree with the other reviewer of this book, Trying Again is a must for anyone who has gone through this horrible experience. And I hope to be able to one day read the 2nd half of this book to add to this review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have for subsequent pregnancies This book is an excellent reference for those embarking on the difficult journy of trying to conceive after a loss. All types of losses are discussed from early miscarriage to infant death. The author writes from personal experience and includes many interviews with women who have experienced subsequent pregnancies. She also has colaborated with a doctor and with the author of Empty Cradle, Broken Heart (another MUST HAVE book about pregnancy loss). If you are looking for a book that will help you keep your sanity through trying to concieve and a subsequent pregnancy, this is a great one. One of the best things about this book is that it doesn't just focus on the pregnancy. It also deals with issues of greif. Some of the fears and tears that come with a subsequent pregnancy really don't have anything to do with the new baby on the way. I really liked how this book talked about your deceased baby and how he/she fits into your family. Even if you are NOT trying to concieve again/yet, this book is a really good pregnancy loss greif book. You should also check out Pregnancy After a Loss by Carol Lanham, also written by a bereaved mom.
