Visions Of Sugar Plums is rated 3.5556 out of 5 by 9.
It''s five days before Christmas and things are not looking merry for Fugitive Apprehension Agent Stephanie Plum. She hasn''t got a tree. She hasn''t bought any presents. The malls are jam-packed with staggering shoppers. There''s not a twinkle light anywhere to be seen in her apartment.

And there''s a strange man in her kitchen.

Sure, this has happened to Stephanie Plum before. Strangers, weirdos, felons, creeps, and lunatics are always finding their way to her front door. But this guy is different. This guy is mysterious, sexy-and he has his own agenda. His name is Diesel and he is a man on a mission. And Diesel is unlike anyone Stephanie has ever met before in her life. The question is, what does he want with her? Can he help her find a little old toy maker who has skipped out on his bail right before Christmas? Can he survive the Plum family holiday dinner? Can he get Stephanie a tree that doesn''t look like it was grown next to a nuclear power plant? These questions and more are keeping Stephanie awake at night. Not to mention the fact that she needs to find a bunch of nasty elves, her sister Valerie has a Christmas "surprise" for the Plums, her niece Mary Alice doesn''t believe in Santa anymore, and Grandma Mazur has a new stud muffin. So bring out the plastic reindeer, strap on your jingle bells, and get ready to celebrate the holidays-Jersey style. Visions of Sugar Plums-the world of Plum has never been merrier!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Same as usual Pretty quick read, was hoping that this book would let you get to know the characters a little more and was not the same plot line as the actual numbers books, but relatively the same idea with a little supernatural thrown in.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Diesel sure gets your engine going I actually like this story. It was change and hard adjustment from a Mystery series to an in between book that is Supernatural. I would probably have to read the actual Diesel novel to fully understand it. Or at least to get the jist of what Diesel really is and how he came to be. Cute little read.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Whimsical, humorous, lighthearted holiday read Visions of Sugar Plums by Janet Evanovich Bounty hunters, superheroes and elves, oh my! Stephanie Plum is rushing headlong into Christmas without a thing accomplished. When a strange man literally pops into her kitchen, strange events become the norm. This latest of Janet Evanovich's offerings is bound to give readers a feeling of relief that they are not Stephanie Plum. Especially at Christmas, when time runs short, weird and confusing things are happening, and her wacky family is in top form. Just who is this man who pops in and out of her daily life wreaking emotional havoc? Also, what about the attack elves? Lighthearted and fun, I really enjoyed this unusual Christmas story. 4 1/2 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very hilarious book, one I would read again! It is a few days before Christmas and bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is no where near ready for Christmas, not one sparkle of Christmas in her apartment. A strange man pops into her kitchen and just won't leave. The usual fast talking, stun guns, and pepper spray won't remove this guy. This is a holiday adventure, one will have many laughs as one reads through the entire book. So dust off your Christmas holiday spirit and join Stephanie and the gang to enjoy Christmas in Jersey.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A funny holiday read Stephanie Plum surrounded by her usual "interesting" supporting cast make this a really funny hoilday read. As the first of Janet Evanovich's in between Plum books it definatly tided me over until the next came out. Grandma is up to her usual tricks and the addition of another man in Stephanie's life sure made me wish for someone like him under my christmas tree!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ***** Very good, but I was sad it ended so soon. It had a very good plot, and could have been written into a full sized book. Too bad, but still really good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Money grab DON T BUY THIS BOOK!!! Only 3/4 of the book's miniscule thickness is actual story, the rest is ads for her other books. It is nothing like her normal Plum books. It's not very funny. It seems as if someone else wrote it. It's just a way for the company to grab your money, by putting out this holiday story . NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a long Plum Visions of Sugars Plums was an excellent read, but at 150 pages it really is short. I was expecting more, and was upset that it came to such an early end. It was well written and the plot was funny, the usual Evanovich style. Just wish there was more of it.

About the Author

Janet Evanovich is the author of the Stephanie Plum books, including One for the Money and Sizzling Sixteen, and the Diesel & Tucker series, including Wicked Appetite. Janet studied painting at Douglass College, but that art form never quite fit, and she soon moved on to writing stories. She didn’t have instant success: she collected a big box of rejection letters. As she puts it, “When the box was full I burned the whole damn thing, crammed myself into pantyhose and went to work for a temp agency.” But after a few months of secretarial work, she managed to sell her first novel for $2,000. She immediately quit her job and started working full-time as a writer. After 12 romance novels, she switched to mystery, and created Stephanie Plum. The rest is history. Janet’s favorite exercise is shopping, and her drug of choice is Cheeze Doodles. She and her husband live in New Hampshire, in house with a view of the Connecticut River Valley.
