Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Ending I couldn't put the first novel down, and didn't think the second one would be able to compete. However, I was wrong - Adam's perspective was raw and beautiful, and there could not be a more satisfying ending.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Sequel! This book was the perfect sequel! I read it quicker than "If I Stay"... Could not put it down!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wasn't Bad... I found Where she went a little boring. The last few chapters were good and once the story got going it wasn't as boring. I liked how the author (Gayle Forman) made this book though the perspective of Adam. It was different from the first book and I really liked that. The plot was good other then being a little boring and the characters were good too. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Feeling Of Closure I really enjoyed If I stay so I had big expectations for Where She Went, maybe even too high.. I guess this is why I felt disappointed for most of the book because I found it hard to get into and, to put it bluntly, boring. I don't know if this was just me, but thats how I felt, and i also got really upset when Adam just brings back Mia into his life with all these questions that he never seems to get out. But DO NOT give up because, it gets better! I found at around page 180, from there on it was spectacular. The plot was finally pleasing for me, and the characters were finally coming out from behind this barrier I felt for the beginning of the book. Thats why I gave this book 5 stars because in the end it really was as good as the first, but just in a different way. Overall, this sequel does not disappoint and you get a great feeling of satisfaction with the happy-ending and amazing feeling of closure. These were fantastic books and I give much praise to the author for writing them. The only thing you won't be happy about in the end, is that it's all over :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sweet, Cute, and Short Read! More reviews at: www.eyesonthepages.blogspot.ca Picking up three years after If I Stay, we follow Adam's character and how he has somehow managed to go from his dream life to a life where he can barely manage to make it through each day. Ever since him and Mia broke up, he's had a loss of self, but by either coincidence or fate, Adam gets to see Mia one last time so he can finally get some closure. It was definitely interesting to see what happened to Adam and Mia after the final page of If I Stay. The book was really sweet and cute and short and I just loved the ending! Unfortunately, I picked this book up right after My Life Next Door and I just couldn't help but compare the two the whole time. As a result, I wasn't able to enjoy Where She Went as much as I could have since I was thinking about Fitzpatrick's debut novel the whole time I was reading this book.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Had too many expectations.. I really enjoyed if I stay it was beautifully written and it was a very emotional story. When I read all the reviews for where she went I was expecting it to be really good and I was disappointed, I didn't find it was really necessary to write this book. The ending from the first book was enough for me. It was hard for me to get into, I had to stop a few times and just couldn't get to it.. I find the first one was written in a better more beautiful and captivating way. This one lost me a few times and I even had to skip a few pages, because some things I find just weren't necessary at all. If you read If I Stay you need to read Where She Went just to have closure on the book, but it's not the best sequel..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful - a great sequel! The brilliant follow-up to Gayle Forman’s debut novel, If I Stay, Where She Went states the obvious—what happened to Mia after she woke from her coma? As I said in my review a few weeks ago, I devoured If I Stay. Beautifully written, delicately crafted characters, I couldn’t get enough. I have pretty much the same things to say about Forman’s follow-up novel. Told from the point-of-view of Adam, Mia’s boyfriend in If I Stay, the novel follows him 3 years later. Not with Mia, having been brutally dumped by avoidance, the question on his mind is: Why? The thing I love about this novel is that there isn’t a lot of fuss with other characters—trying not to give too much away, I’ll say this: sometimes less is more. The characters are the same characters you would have fallen in love with in If I Stay—they’re just developed more. They’re confused, they’re grown up, and even though they’re trying to make it in the big world, it’s hard for them not to dwell on the past. Some characters are mentioned throughout the novel, but they play a small part—too many characters would clutter up this beautiful work. One of my favourite things about both the first and second book in this series (I’m sorry—I just can’t get away from referring to both of them) is that they can each stand on their own. As a reader, I came into Where She Went knowing the basics of If I Stay, but left the novel feeling like I could have read either one or the other—and this is brilliant. Too many writers nowadays set up their novels for sequels, and it’s painfully obvious to the reader when they take in the works. Gayle Forman doesn’t feed this pet peeve of mine, though. Another thing I love is that the flashbacks to the accident in If I Stay are subtle and crafted for a reader who read this and only this book. There’s no need to have pages and pages of the past—Forman gives us exactly the information we need entering this book. Not knowing that there was even a follow-up to If I Stay, I’m curious if there will be more books written in this series. There’s a definite end to Where She Went, but the door is definitely open for more. I’m sure Forman’s fans would agree that there can always be more. Gayle Forman is a gem of a writer–I look forward to reading more by her in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tormenting and breathtaking! Originally posted at http://dazzlingreads.blogspot.com/ Forman highly surprised me with If I Stay and after I turned the last page, I had to immediately jump into Where She Went! From Adam's point of view, Where She Went is a story that gave me smiles, tears, rage, love, happiness, relief, hate, despair and so many other emotions that just a very few books can gather and combine together with so much success and strength. Were She Went is a tormenting, brilliant and mesmerizing sequel to If I Stay that definitely places Forman Up There among my selective list of favorite authors. Bravo Gayle Forman! you blew my mind and melt my heart! It's been three years since Mia left Oregon...and Adam. And it has been three agonizing years for Adam to wonder why. Now, both of them are well acclaimed international musicians and, once again, is music what brings them back together. Where She Went is a night where Adam and Mia, for the first time, see each other after she left. A night of confessions, a night of catharsis. Beautiful in every single way, even in the most agonizing and exhilarating moments, Where She Went keeps replaying in my head, and I remember over and over again those 260 pages and the emotional impact they had on me. If If I Stay was a highly intense emotional read, Where She Went is the same but to the power of 100, this book will definitely make you want to rip your heart out of your chest. It is hard to process such intensity but impossible to put down. In addition, I loved that Mia takes Adam to her favorite places in New York. I love seeing how they both struggle to bring up the one question they both want to hear out loud but can't come to actually say it. I also loved how Forman so perfectly achieve to create believable and realistic reasons for everything that happened during the last three years as well as for everything that happens during this night in New York. Every single thing on this book is flawless and to say that I passionately love this novel is not even close enough to what I feel. Adam's words are tormenting and heartbreaking. Readers will certainly feel for him and shed many, many tears. I cannot recommend this book enough but it certainly deserve all the awards it could possible win and more! Where She Went is certainly one of my favorite books of 2011 and all times. Don't wait any longer and go pick it up! Where She Went is a tormenting story with a beautiful and heart wrenching prose that took my breath away and stopped my heart countless of times. This is a deeply touching story of understanding, forgiveness and a powerful and prevailing love capable to melt every reader's heart! Where She Went is a book that everyone should read, it's an emotional explosion that nobody should miss!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic! Adam Wilde is living the dream. His band is about to start the biggest tour of their career, their albums have gone triple platinum and he's half of the hottest celebrity couple around. The interviews, videos and recording sessions should be the icing on the cake, but for the "Wilde Man" they're torture. No matter how many pills he takes or cigarettes he smokes, the dream still feels like a nightmare. No one understands why the man who has it all acts like he's in hell. He knows what went wrong, but there's nothing Adam can do to make himself enjoy the life he always thought he wanted. Because it was a dream they made together, and it doesn't make him happy without her. But one day when fate intervenes, Adam finally finds the answers he has been searching for. Even though "Where She Went" is a follow-up to Mia's story in "If I Stay", I think Adam's tale will be just as enjoyable for those who haven't read the first book. Gayle Forman has an incredible ability to write characters that almost leap off the page they feel so real. Adam's story unfolds in both real-time and through flashbacks, but the two work together seamlessly to fill in the details of the past three years without ever felling jumpy or hard to follow. I really have no complaints with Where She Went. The characters are wonderful, the pacing is perfect and the story answers all the questions that readers are left with after "If I Stay". The only reason I gave this book one less star than "If I Stay" was that it didn't quite pack the emotional punch that Mia's side of the story did. But I think that's a result of reading these two books back-to-back, rather than there being anything lacking in "Where She Went". I absolutely loved this book (and it's predecessor) and will be recommending it to every one of my fellow book lovers. "Where She Went" is the type of story that makes me love reading - an emotional ride with great characters that really stays with you. I can't wait to read more from Gayle Forman.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I Liked It It took me no time to read this book, I didn't realize it at the time that it was a sequel & it didn't matter. It all still made sense and I fell in love with Mia & Adam.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Loved It! I went into reading Where She Went with very high expectations, but also the understanding that usually sequels let me down and I probably shouldn’t hold my breath. However, judging by the pure speed at which I read this book and the fact that my stomach was in knots the whole time I would stay that my expectations were most certainly met. When I first read If I Stay I was instantly drawn to Adam – I wanted to know more about him and I finished the book wishing I could follow him for just a bit longer. Where She Went gave me the chance to know Adam better, but it was a gut wrenching experience to feel his pain and anger. Not just read about it but actually feel it – this is what Forman does, she doesn’t just write about emotions she makes the reader a part of the story and experience every single one. Where She Went was every bit as raw and emotionally devastating as its precursor. I literally could not put it down. I am struggling to write a ‘review’ of this book simply because I felt as though I was inside Adam’s head while I was reading, sort of like I was actually there. I suppose if anything that is review enough. I will definitely be reading If I Stay and Where She Went again. I feel like they shocked me into experiencing an emotional roller coaster along with its characters the first time around and I am sure there are beautiful bits of prose and story that I missed the first time around when my reading was clouded by my anger, grief or anticipation. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting Epilogue to Previous Book I thought this was a well written and interesting close out to the previous book. It takes places from Adam's point of view and alternately surprised me and intrigued me. I found the ending a touch too pat hence the 4 stars but really enjoyed finding out how Mia ended up after she woke up. A nice cap to the series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning! I had been anticipating the day this book came out. I finished it in one sitting, just completely devoured it. I loved how we got to hear from/get into Adam’s point of view. It was different, and I quite liked it. It was nice to read how he was feeling throughout the course of what happened to Mia before, and what he thinks of her now. It was amazing, the writing was just so powerful and emotional – I especially loved the lyrics Forman had at the top of each chapter. Absolutely amazing. However, I was slightly disappointed with the ending… It wasn’t at all what I expected; it was alright but nothing special! Leaves me wondering if there will be a third book in the making? Hmm... Guess we’ll have to wait and find out! Overall, the book was fabulous and Forman’s was beautifully written as per usual.
