Yertle The Turtle And Other Stories

by Seuss

Random House Children's Books | April 12, 1958 | Hardcover

Yertle The Turtle And Other Stories is rated 5 out of 5 by 1.

Dr. Seuss presents three modern fables in the rhyming favorite Yertle the Turtle and Other Stories. The collection features tales about greed (“Yertle the Turtle”), vanity (“Gertrude McFuzz”), and pride (“The Big Brag”). In no other book does a small burp have such political importance! Yet again, Dr. Seuss proves that he and classic picture books go hand in hand.

Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from totally amazing This is one of the best books ever written by Dr. Seuss. Yertle the Turtle is an amazing story. It applies to everyday life through the fact that if we try to gain power without recognizing the people who help us, or awknowledge that they are even there, we will just fall apart. This is a great book and everyone should read it.

From Our Editors

The world of children’s literature would be far less brilliant and playful were it not for the fertile imagination of Dr. Seuss. For more than 60 years, his wonderfully wacky storybooks have been dazzling legions of children, while teaching them the very important skill of reading. Featuring the master’s frolicsome illustrations and verse, Yertle the Turtle collects three modern fables including "Gertrude McFuzz," "Yertle the Turtle" and "The Big Brag." Presented in full-colour, don’t miss the chance to add this to your child’s bookshelf.
