Braveheart

Starring: Mel Gibson
Director: Mel Gibson

Paramount Home Entertainment | August 29, 2000 | DVD

This Academy Award-winning film is based on the life of legendary Scottish hero William Wallace. During the 13th century, Wallace returns to his homeland, Scotland, after the death of the king -- who left no heir. The political landscape is precarious, for Edward the Longshanks, King of England, has captured Scotland's throne and threatens the freedom of all Scottish people. However, Wallace refuses to succumb to the new rule, and with his fierce patriotism and determination, he gathers an amateur, but passionately rebellious army. Although this makeshift force may be outnumbered by the English troops, their desperation and love for their land succeed in expelling the King of England from their beloved country.
