The animated film Cars is appropriate for all age groups. This film teaches us the value of friendship, community, and loyalty. The initial theme portrayed through the famous race car Lightning McQueen is of someone who is self-absorbed. Due to his selfishness he finds himself located in the forgotten town of Radiator Springs instead of at the California Dinaco Cup Finals. During his time in the town the community teaches him the importance of becoming an active member of society. Through these lessons he revitalized the town in numerous ways. Upon restoring this town he proceeded to his race in California where he is supported by those people he helped in Radiator Springs. McQueen realized the meaning of friendship and loyalty with the help of one special friend. Whether you are a child, a teenager, or an adult, this movie teaches valuable lessons of how to be a contributing member of society.

I love this movie. It is easily one of my favorite children's movies, and quite possibly one of my "top ten ever" picks. I love the animation, the plot, the dialogue, the perfect casting of the characters, EVERYTHING! When you need a quick pick me up, "Cars" is the one to watch!

I don't know what it is about this movie, it just always is a fun ride every time I watch it. It is the only cartoon movie that I will re watch, ever. Owen Wilson, Bonnie hunt, the late Paul Newman, and Larry The Cable Guy all give there voices for there respective screen characters. It a good movie, that I would recommend for all ages.

In Pixar's normally wonderful variety of movies, "Cars" unfortunately sits as my least enjoyed. That said, my nephew adored it, so I think I should more properly say that this movie didn't have anything for me - the adult - to enjoy. But kids sure eat it up. Perhaps it's the hero that did it for me, a race-car who is, quite frankly, not that likable, even when he does learn his valuable lesson (or two). And there's something about cars that I had trouble anthropomorphizing - I couldn't quite connect with them as characters. The plot - a race car who ends up in a small nowhere town with fines to pay off in the form of roadworks duty - is so-so, but children who are enthusiasts of fast cars and cartoons in general seem to adore it.

This was the start of Pixar's slow period, a story about talking cars. The film starts out okey, even when the introductory song "life is a highway" is slaughtered by a no name singer instead of the original. The film starts out with hotshot lightning mcqueen; he's fast and the best racer but only thinks of himself. adults have already seen the cliche screenplay about a thousand other times, but kids will focus on the animation and speed parts of the first half of the film anyways. Of course, Mcqueen gets lost and gets stuck in a sterotypical hick vile. This is where the movie went from a so so kid movie to just bad. Nothing happens in the next hour and half except talking. It was tedious to watch and featured how Mcqueen somehow bonded with all the cars in the roadside stop, falls in love bla bla. The antics of Ta Mater are so bad that any humour in the script is lost. Then of course Mcqueen races the bad guy and he doesn't even win. Instead he lets the old timer car cross the finish line with help...bla bla teamwork bla bla friendship bla bla bla winning ins't everything. There is nothing new in this movie, there were much better movies out at the same time such as Happy Feet instead of a cliche car movie.

love this movie. I love everything about this movie: the story, the animation, the casting, and the overall design. Probably Owen Wilson's best performance. And Paul Newman? Casting doesn't get any better than this. Need a little pick me up? Watch Cars. Need to remind yourself of what is really important in life? Watch Cars. Need to recapture something that you think you lost a long time ago? Watch Cars. Just watch this movie and be moved
