From Our Editors
Popular comedian Brent Butt returns to small town Saskatchewan to
portray the life he would have led had he gotten a real job -
pumping gas at Corner Gas. Each episode of Corner Gas delivers a
half-hour of comedic voyeurism in a place where everyone knows
everyone else's business. The series is set in the fictional town
of Dog River Saskatchewan, and focuses on the life (or lack
thereof) of gas station owner Brent LeRoy, coffee shop proprietor
Lacey Burrows and the folks who populate the area. Dog River is a
nice town, but far from the quaint and idyllic little burgs we're
used to seeing on TV. It isn't Pleasantville and it's definitely
not Mayberry. It's a little town with a definite edge where not
much happens and people like it that way. But invariably, when
things do change, just a little, all hell breaks loose.
Corner Gas is a comedy series that answers many of the questions
we have about small town life. What would life be like if you lived
in the middle of nowhere? What would you do with your days? How
long would it take before you go nuts?
And most importantly it's a series that makes you laugh, and
laugh, and laugh.
The Corner Gas television series is produced by an award winning
Canadian team comprised of Executive Producers Brent Butt (Just for
Laughs, Comedy Now - Funnypants) and David Storey (The Sean Cullen
Show, Blackfly) of Vancouver's 335 Productions and Virginia
Thompson (Incredible Story Studio) of Saskatchewan's Vérité Films.
The Supervising Producer is Mark Farrell (This Hour Has 22 Minutes,
Made in Canada). Brent Butt is an award-winning comedian, David
Storey is an award-winning director, Virginia Thompson is an
award-winning producer and Mark Farrell is an award-winning writer.
