Death Note is an amazing and unique Japanese anime series that everyone, both teenage or older guys and girls, will enjoy. It introduced many new ideas that I did not previously read about or even imagined. It is based on the manga, which is also entitled Death Note, by Tsugumi Ohba. It is Tsugumi Ohba's only work, and it is also suspected that Ohba is a pen name for another mangaka. Also, there is an English translation that is being aired slowly.

I recommend Death Note to everyone who likes a mystery.

Shinigami Ryuk is a death god and he owns a notebook called 'Death Note', which is his killing device. Anyone's whose name is written down in the death note dies within forty seconds.

One day Shinigami Ryuk was bored and decided to drop the death note in the human world, where it was discovered by Light, a high school honour student.

Light is thrilled that he has the power to kill people without touching them and discreetly. He plans to create a completely new world: an ideal world free from criminals.

The governments of countries around the world start to notice the unusual number of deaths among criminals, and think that someone is behind it. That is when L is hired, a master detective that is do find the secret killer. Will Light get caught? Or will Light outsmart the best detective in the world, L?
