Fight Club

Starring: Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, Helena Bonham Carter, Jared Leto, Meat Loaf Aday
Director: David Fincher

20th Century Fox Home Video | November 29, 2005 | DVD

Just who is Tyler Durden? To Edward Norton's unnamed protagonist, he is the antithesis of the Ikea-shopping modern man, the quintessential representation of the alpha-male and a mysterious stranger determined to challenge the new turn-of-the-millennium paradigms. Norton is a jaded and indifferent young man discouraged by the monotony of life who views Tyler (Brad Pitt) as his salvation. With Tyler's prompting and after an exhilarating fight between the two, they form an exclusive club where men can beat each other so that they might feel again. But in Fight Club, a brilliant and controversial morality play, things evolve into so much more. With Helena Bonham Carter as the disaffected Marla who embarks on a love/hate relationship with Tyler, Fight Club is jaw-droppingly violent at times but remains true to its vision without ever becoming gratuitous. And the twist will send you reeling. Directed by David Fincher (Seven), this two disc set has plenty of extra features to keep you glued to your seat.

After I was done watching this movie it took my brain a couple hours to fullly understand what I just watched. I went back and fourth think it was terriable, than awsome. But after thinking long and hard about it I have to relize, it is epic. This is an awsome movie. Edward Norton and Brad Pitt's acting in this movie is spot on. Edward is perfect for this kind of role. This part almost seems like it was written for Brad Pitt. It was magic. David Fincher does an awsome job directing this movie. The way he makes things work, and shows things on the screen, incredable. By the title you proably think it's just a bunch of male's fighting, but it's not. It's alot more than that. The plot seems unbelievable, but at the end when everthing is explained, it suddenly seems very believeable. This movie will Bend yoiur mind, so don't watch it if your brain is just ready to fall asleep. A Strange, but awsome movie.

I thought that fight club took a deep in-depth view of the psyche of men. This is one of the most original themes in a movie that I have ever seen. Do not be misled by the tittle, it not just about a physical fights it is also a mental one threw one mans disoriented life.

You DO NOT talk about Fight Club. I hate to brake the first (and second) rule of FIGHT CLUB, but I have to tell you people how amazing this movie is. It might just be the greatest film ever made. This movie is gripping, moving, funny, and just plain great. This DVD edition is the best way to see this masterpiece. Buy it NOW.
    In Tyler we trust.

Fight Club is a movie that one must watch twice to totally appreciate it. The philosophical messages contained within it trully reflect today's society. This movie (better on DVD then video) pulls you in and never lets go. Of course it is not for the weak of heart. Or stomach for that matter. If you love weird movies than you will love Fight Club. Description

Fincher's adrenaline-soaked adaptation of Palahniuk's electric first novel is a satirical, absurdist romp highlighted by his trademark visual flair. Norton is "The Narrator," a fed-up modern-day adult who trudges through his mundane daily existence with no release or outlet for his confusion. He begins attending support groups for individuals with cancer as a way to actually feel something. There, he confronts another faker, Marla (Carter), who seems to be even more jaded and cynical than he is. On a business trip, he meets the mysterious Tyler Durden (Pitt), a soap manufacturer whose opinions connect with and inspire him. They form a FIGHT CLUB to release their aggression, and before long, the whole world seems to be joining in on the fun. Brutally graphic, with a juvenile undercurrent of homoeroticism, Fincher's film is funny, charged, and long.

Synopsis

David Fincher's (SEVEN) adrenaline-fueled adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk's novel is a satirical, absurdist romp highlighted by the director's visual flair. Edward Norton is the narrator of the tale, a fed-up adult who trudges through his mundane daily existence with no release or outlet for his confusion. He begins attending support groups for individuals with cancer as a way of actually feeling something. There, he confronts another faker, Marla Singer (Helena Bonham Carter), who seems to be even more jaded and cynical than he. On a business trip, he meets the mysterious Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt), a soap manufacturer, whose opinions connect with and inspire him. They form a "fight club" to release their aggression, and before long, the whole world seems to be joining in on the "fun." The film is an aggressive and anarchic, yet arguably comedic take on the ethos of late 1990s consumer culture.
