Who'd've thought they could draw a fish that actually looks like Ellen DeGeneres? The comedian's spirited turn as Dory, the bright blue tang fish with no short-term memory, is one of the most delightful aspects of a film packed with thrills. It's a classic quest story -- a father in search of his lost son, who, in turn, just wants to get home. Albert Brooks voices the fretful father, a clownfish named Marlin, who has done his best for wee Nemo after his wife and a few hundred other spawn were eaten by a barracuda. But Nemo is at an age where he wants to push his boundaries, and an act of defiance on his first day of school gets him scooped up by a scuba diver and hauled off to a dentist's office aquarium in Sydney.

While Nemo is meeting his new tank-mates (among them Gil, the battle-scarred veteran marvelously voiced by Willem Dafoe) and helping craft a daring escape plan, Marlin is frantically searching for him, with questionable "help" from the loopy Dory. Along the way, the unlikely pair of rescuers meets a stunning array of charismatic critters: a trio of sharks-in-recovery, a herd of surfer-dude sea turtles, a forest of lovely but ominous jellyfish and a flock of beady-eyed seagulls with a one-word vocabulary: "Mine? Mine! Mine!"

The CG animation of the awesome underwater setting is stunning and the jokes are a decent mix of for-the-kids schtick and more grownup asides. The initial scene in which Marlin's family is reduced to one is, quite frankly, traumatic, but past that point, it's pretty much smooth sailing, though the shark scenes get a bit crazy volume-wise. All in all, this is a fish tale worth telling.

    The Dory Movie

Although I do adore this movie, I have to say that it's Dory (voiced by Ellen Degeneres) that totally stole the show for me. Playing a fish with a bit of a short term memory issue, she injects an incredible amount of humor into what is otherwise a "parent tries to reunite with missing kid" movie, albeit one cast with undersea creatures.

Whimsical and funny, the movie dashes out some beautiful visuals (the jellyfish, the reef itself) with some lovely dialog (especially anything with the aforementioned Dory), and has more than a few memorable moments that ended up sneaking in to our everyday speak. How many times have you caught yourself humming or singing the "Just Keep Swimming" song?

    Thought so.

I love this film!! I laughed and I cried! Ellen really brings Dory to life and makes the film the hit it is today! You'll find yourself quoting all the lines off by heart, falling in love with the endearing characters and wanting an aquarium of your own!! One you cannot miss and one that every Disney fan needs to watch and own!

An excellent film about a handicapped fish being taken by divers and his father, as well as an unlikely friend, go on a journey across the ocean to find him.

Nemo is an adventure movie that is about a clown fish named Nemo, who one day, is captured by divers and is taken to a petshop. That is when Nemo's father starts his journey across the ocean, in search of his only son, Nemo.

I recommend everyone to watch this entertaining movie about sea creatures.

The danger with any film you buy for your kids is that you'll end up seeing it again and again and ...
In the case of Finding Nemo, I look forward to it!
Come to think of it - I'm not so sure I'm not buying it as much for myself as for the kids.
